Install Paint.net 5.0.12 MSI with no desktop shortcut

Recommended Posts

How do I deploy the Paint.net 5.0.12 MSI so that it doesn't install a desktop shortcut? I know you used to extract the MSI from the exe and could specify the desktopshortcut=0 at that time, but from what I've read you can't extra the MSI from the exe since version 4.33. eg) msiexec paint.net.5.0.12.winmsi.x64.msi /q /desktopshortcut=0 does not work.

Thanks,

Did you read the instructions? https://getpaint.net/doc/latest/UnattendedInstallation.html

And the MSI isn't extractable because it's provided separately now. https://github.com/paintdotnet/release/releases

In general, unless you're doing a deployment across a large network of PCs and know exactly what you're doing, it's not a good idea to use the MSI.
