KeyLogic
Sup. 8) OK so here's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to create a square box, 256x256, with rounded edges using the Rounded Rectangle tool. I want to use the Gradient tool over it (Green to Blue) but unfortunately this messes with the rounded edges, the semi-transparent pixels become completely opaque. I tried something that almost worked. I created layer #1 with just a white background, Layer #2 was the square box with rounded edges, and layer #3 was the Gradient tool and created a box, also 256x256, with square edges and changed the Blending mode to "Screen", this created the desired effect but every time I merged layers 2 and 3 it no longer looked like it was. Please help me understand this. Thanks. Quote KeyLogic's Art Gallery My deviantART Profile
david.atwell
Your best method would be to create your gradient, and then use an alpha mask to cut it into the shape of the rounded rectangle. :-) Take a look in searchpaint.net to find the Alpha Mask Import plugin. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
