I'm using paint.net for long time now and like it a lot. Still there are some wishes:

1. Provide real docking for color and layer pallette.
2. Provide full keyboard interface for color and layer pallette. (Like for tools).

You can move those windows outside of the main Paint.NET window and they'll remember their location the next time you run PdN.

What kind of key combinations are you looking for?

 

Some already exist, like pressing X to swap the primary and secondary color.

You already asked for this here...

...but you have given no indication of:

• How many of the 96 colours in a palette you would want accessible by shortcuts?
• Which keys should be used to select colours (making sure that you avoid clashes with all existing shortcuts)?
• How you would expect shortcut keys to be assigned to colours?
• Whether the shortcut keys should be are palette-specific, so that they are loaded along with a palette - or whether they are palette independent?

It would help the discussion move forward if you made some suggestions.
