brush settings

PDN 4.3 will round the value to an integer anyway. PDN 5 will not, so you can try 1.1 or 1.05 or whatever gets you there. The alpha is available over in the Preview Section of the forum.

They will likely look different if you are not at 100% zoom because the brush tool supports sub-pixel coordinates. So you have to do the comparison at 100% zoom level.

Sure, when drawing a line with Line/Curve. But the first post is talking about the Paintbrush tool.

 

@paintnetnoob400, you might try tinkering with the Hardness setting in the toolbar. That can be used to soften up the edges of a brush stroke.
