@Toasted_0range, please don't reply to those very old forum topics. I've split your post into a new topic.

The file was originaly a .rar file, but I changed it to a png

A RAR is an archive format similar to the ZIP format.  So, you can't just change an archive (.rar) into an image (.png).

Is there an image file contain within the RAR archive?

(September 25th, 2023)  Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue.

When I open the file with MS paint or Paint.net neither work

Like I said, an archive file (like a ZIP or RAR) is not an image.

I don't really know how to open the archive.

Yes, WinRAR will work.

I would be a lot easier to help you, if you got your story straight. First you said it was a .rar file, and then you said it was a .zip file. Now it's a .rar file again. :/
