I extracted the images from the .rar folder, and I am now able to open them with Paint.net. Thank you for your help!

Sorry if I was confusing, the template I downloaded is a .rar file, but the entire texture pack is a .zip file (there isn't a problem with the texture pack, just the file). I'll try WinRAR to extract it.

The microsoft page didn't really work, but do you think that WinRAR would work to extract the image from the .rar file?

I don't really know how to open the archive. When I open the file with MS paint or Paint.net neither work, and I don't have the option to open it without a program.

I think so. I'm trying to make a minecraft texture pack, and the pack is in a .ZIP format, which is normal. This is a screenshot of the template im trying to download.

So I just downloaded a template that I wanted to edit, and that same pop up came up. The file was originaly a .rar file, but I changed it to a png and it still doesn't work :/. I just realized that im 13 years late on this forum...
