Preparing a collage.

Recommended Posts

This is probably going to sound stupid, but i need help with starting a project.

I want to create a collage for my friend`s on Facebook, using all the pictures of them that they kindly sent me.

I want the pictures to fit onto a blue background, (which i do have saved), and which surrounds a font in the middle of the collage which says, "Friendship Family".

I also have to have, (by Facebook rules), the picure size of 851x315.

I have Paint.NET software installed onto my computer, and i did open it, but that`s as far as i got. Everything looks so confusing, and i wonder if anyone can help me with this project.

I am 56 year`s old, so all this is new to me.

Thank you.

Welcome @crisdebf to the forum :) .

Being so new to PDN may prove a little frustrating to begin with.

Here is a tutorial which will show the basics of how to begin the collage with layers:

You will need to get to this point after mastering the above pointers.

1.  Start with the canvas size of 851 x 315

2.  Fill the above with blue.

3.  New Layer for your text - center it - there is a Plugin for this here

4.  Then you will need to Import your photos and resize them first with the Rectangle Select Tool, then use the Move Selected Pixels Tool to reduce the size.
