  1. It seems paint.net can only hold about 12 images at a time.

This reply isn't going to get you anywhere as I do not know what's causing your issue, but I too am using Windows7 w/8MB of RAM and I am using 3.5.10 as well, and I have no problem opening up 20+ images. So Paint.net does not have such a restriction.

EDIT: Try searching Canon MP470 Windows 7 Scanning Problem. I found some comments regarding communications issues w/the provided USB cable. I noted several responses indicating such things as "you must buy a DS (double shielded) USB printer cable about 1.8 m in length" or similar. I don't know that this is necessarily your resolution, but a possibility.

  2. Let me first say, that this reply is not intended to call anybody a liar, but at the same time I am more concerned about folks reading this and being misled. Now, it is quite possible that there may be some miscommunication going on here, but for the sake of argument I am submitting the below browser screenshots to illustrate that the info presented by NN is accurate:

This picture shows that when you place your cursor over the link NN provided, that it will show the download of the PDN installer:

A subsequent post to NN implied there was something wrong with this link and also indicated that a good d/l came from the blog site.

This screenshot is from the blog site and subsequent screenshots follow the links from there to the final download link. Again, mousing over the link shows where you will end up next:

This picture is the next site as shown in the previous picture:

And the next page as indicated in the previous screenshot:

And below is the final page and link. You will note that the mouse over the link shows the very same d/l that was shown in NN's post:

  3. In order to maintain layers, you must save as .pdn first. After you've saved in that format, you can resave as a .jpg if you desire.

If you haven't closed Paint.net yet, you can simply use the history pane to undo the flattening. Just click on the history just above where it says "flattened".

If you closed Paint.net, then there is nothing you can do to recover the layers.

  4. I hope I'm not sounding offending, but if you ask a question, it is important to read the information people provide, not skim over it. People are trying to assist, but all that seems to be happening is people are repeating themselves or others. It was said at least twice that "You dont open a dll" but instead they tried to instruct you to copy it to a specific place on your computer.

In your third post you said, "I'm just trying to get the blasted dll file open". But the very first reply to you said that you're not supposed to open it, but copy it to your computer.

If you don't understand a specific term or phrase then ask someone to clarify what they meant by what was said in a particular statement and they'll be glad to help.

  5. I tried making a lifelike 'leela' but i cant get it to look quite real...

    any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try to "erase" the original eyes using a copy and paste method by selecting skin from other areas to fill in and then using the smudge tool to blend so you have something like the picture below:

    615de83b.jpg

Notice though how I've used the smudge tool to sort of "shorten" the nose. Once the image is more or less to your liking then paste in the eye in the center. The way the bridge of the nose is reshaped to be down below the eye I think will give a better appearance than simply cutting off the top of the nose w/the eye.

  6. Thank you to everyone for your kind comments.

Unfortunately however, it wasn't until after I posted the sig animation that I realized that I messed it up and there was so much involved to make the animation, that I decided to try to ignore it - but it still seems to haunt me. The problem is w/the reflection in the name. It too should've passed between the two people, but it doesn't. Instead it passes over the reflection of the first person's reflection. The layering was done wrong which caused this, and I would've had to redo the whole thing to fix it.

  7. I think this will be a great plugin addition when it's done. I'm certainly looking forward to it.

I know you've got some issues to resolve, but do you think there will be any ability to set the mesh size?

EDIT: Sorry, I guess I was so mesmerized by the picture, I wasn't looking at the details of the plugin itself.

  8. I'm sorry, I think I'm still lost. If I was painting with a standard brush, this would essentially be the steps:

1.) Select the color red and paint the rose petals

2.) Change the color on the color wheel to green and paint the stem

3.) Change the color on the color wheel to yellow to paint a bee

This process doesn't work for custom brushes?

  9. He wasn't asking a question, so you don't have to ;)

I'm trying to understand the statement and/or the process he/she described. Unless you can explain to me how this works. I did state I haven't had the need/desire yet to use custom brushes. But, that doesn't mean in the future that wouldn't change. But, if custom brushes don't work like a normal brush, then maybe I won't attempt it.

  10. With the color wheel you only get one color...

I don't understand this. You should be able to click on an area of the colorwheel to change the black to some other color and you should then be able to paint w/the custom brushes in that color.

But, I'm only guessing at this point, I haven't had a need/desire yet to use custom brushes.
