  1. I am seriously seeing that the 'cloud' drives are not exactly what they are touted to be. I also am having issues with the EdgeFader. I don't have 'transparent' yet, maybe that is the problem?? Thank you so much for your input. Thank you and best wishes to you and yours, Pat And for all Dad's out there - stateside, we celebrate today as Dad's Day. One day per year is truly not enough. Pat
  2. I downloaded Paint again and downloaded each of my dlls again. They are working now. My problem is - I have is issues with my pc. Almost every day I have to do something to my pc to keep it working. (That in itself is a long story.) I placed my dlls on OneDrive and attempted to use them. these were working dlls. But stopped working when I loaded them into the Effects folder. I am totally frustrated. I have had my machine at HP 3 times and Tech2U once but no one can find the problem with my pc. Reloading the dlls - which are the reason I use PDN and are wonderful - takes me hours. I know you are not techs for pcs, but this issue, IMHO, is likely to occur again. I wonder if there is a place/way to have a backup to my dlls. Thank you for responding and listening. May you be blessed in ways you have not yet imagined. Pat
  3. I have had (and donated multiple times) Paint.Net for years. I love the cooperation and work done by those so much smarter than I. I am having strange computer issues. My Windows 7 HP 64 bit laptop was repaired at a Tech2U shop 3 weeks ago. Paint has worked for all that time but the dll's have stopped showing in the working area the last few days. They are present in the Effects file, but do not show up on the Effects Menu. I have downloaded the program twice and the dlls once. Nothing changes. The only other download that occurred around that time was Glary Utilities. I have also used that program for many years too. Any ideas? A Million thanks to any kind soul with concern and/or answers. Pat
  4. When I try to download that Mosaic Maniac, it shows that the URL is gone. And, I really need a photo collage, is this one for photos too? or just for isolated positions on a page? Am I looking in the wrong place?? Pat
  5. Thank you so much, I knew it would be something right in front of me! Love your work, reviewed each piece and appreciate the information of what was used. Bookmarked and will return frequently. May you be blessed in ways you have not yet imagined. Pat
  6. Thank you for responding to my "Mother and Child" transparency issue❣❣ This work is amazing, just what I need to help me take my work to the next level. Thank you for finding me, you are talented and very organized. Bottle up a little of both and send them my way. May you be blessed in ways you have not yet imagined. Pat
  7. I am making a photo that will be round rather than square/rectangle. I placed a dense, 45 brush width, around my object but I cannot change the circle to transparent. I want the inside to stay and everything, including the circle and outer edge to be transparent. - I cannot figure it out. I can get rid of the outer edges by using the wand but it is a landscape of a tree and the leaves are all sorts of greens with light between some of the leaves, not to mention the branches. I am using the eraser to get rid of the leftovers. I cannot manage to get close to the 'perfect' circle. I even tried using the rounded line but I am not getting the transparency from there either. I think I would use the paint bucket to change the color. But I made the color 'transparent', used the bucket but it is not transparent. How would I make a large, round circle transparent. (Tried to upload 309 kb photo, I don't know if it worked) Pat
  8. WOW! That fixed it quickly. Thank you so much. People helping people on the Internest makes it the best place❣ May you be blessed in ways you have not yet imagined.
  9. I am embarrassed to say I and I alone made a mess of the download on my Win 8.1. I downloaded Paint.net OK, but foolishly tried to copy the Effects that I had on my Vista. I not only tried to copy them, but I got them into the program area NOT the Effects folder. I could not uninstall via Windows standard uninstall. It said "Error on installation" Then I deleted the folder/files for Paint.net. That went OK. Attempted reinstall and got the message "fatal error" there were no further messages. Can anyone help me? I feel really dumb, I do know better. Pat
  10. I do need a copyright stamp for my photos. I only seem to be able to do something in text. Is that the only way? If so, how would I get the 'circled C' after the word? I don't seem to have any fonts that are outline or opaque. I played with using any font and added the opaqe, but it looked like I am in 2nd grade and this is my first project. (Actually, since I have 2 years of 8th grade , that should account for something. . . . ) Furthermore, there are so many photos, is there a batch method to place the copyright on each photo? Any assistance will be appreciated. Pat Snyder Southern California
  11. I hope I am in the right place. I love paint.net and recommend it all the time. I have seen people change the color of a models' outfit but cannot figure out how to do it. The shading and gradation (perhaps not the correct terms) stays in the new color. For instance, a swimsuit still has shadows and simple texture from one color to the next. Curtains would have the same light hitting the new color. I would be grateful for any response. I appreciate all the effort and care with which paint.net has been handled. KUDOS TO ALL! Pat
  12. has not set their status

  13. I hope that works! I bought this Windows 7 to get rid of these problems. I guess I was fooling myself. When it comes to Windows, there are few and far between solutions. Thanks for trying everyone. Pat
  14. Geeze, I went back to check the Conrol Panel File Association and it was showing Windows Photo Viewer. When I went to change that to Paint.net the Windows Explorer stops working. Now what? Pat
  15. It is all image files (non-video). I am so stumped and need to be defragged mentally. I really did not think this would be difficult to fix but it is. I did notice that when I right click on some of the files, they are still associated with Windows Photo Viewer. When I try to change that association, I get a "Winodws Shell Common DLL has stopped working." (I just saw this a few minutes ago.) The association is correct in the Control Panel. Pat
  16. I did go into the 'view' (right click) file area and changed to medium, but no help. Perhaps it is a different adjustment. Pat
  17. I could not find anything like "file explorer" anywhere. I looked in Windows. Since I am unfamiliar with windows 7, that is my problem. I am excited to get this fixed when someone can tell me about file explorer. Thank you so much, Pat
  18. I love Paintdotnet and have recommended it so many times. I just got my Windows 7 it is 64 bit and happy until I cannot see my photos on the icons. It is associated to .jpg as usual. Works to open in paintdotnet, but the icon does not show what is inside the file. I really need to see the icon pict of the photo. Can anyone help? I did turn off my UserAccount and completed the association. . Pat Thanks to all who help the needy - - -
  19. I have used the Hue and Sat very successfully. With this tutorial and some more practice, I think I will be on my way. I did try to Search for "Colour Balance" in this Forum, and will try again. There was no 'Colour Balance' that I could find. Thanks for your response. Pat
  20. I tried to get the recommended downloads, but got only to FORUMER with a 404 error message for all the links you gave. Am I doing something wrong? I really am very confused by the abilities of Paint.net. I can do the simple things, and Paint does improve my photos a LOT! I need to be able to change a color of a pashmina (shawl) which has folds. I am working with everything I can find here, but am not getting too far. I do Searches with varying results. Perhaps I am using the wrong verbage. I think your tutorial is great. I just wish it could help me. You get an A+!! It clarified a couple of things for me!!! Pat
  21. I did try that link, and did the regedit. It did not help. Pat
  22. Rick - I may be having problems explaining myself. I have used, donated and recommended Paint.net for several years. I love the program but have experienced a new problem. When I attempt to associate Paint.net to my jpg, etc., photos, it does not give me the option to associate paint.net at all. It always has before, and I don't know why this has changed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Paint.net several times. I never had this problem before. I did try the reg file and it had no affect. If I ask to 'browse' to select Paint.net, that does not work either. I simply cannot associate jpg, et al to paint.net. I am attempting to make it my default program. Even if I want to associate just a single file, that also does not work. Any suggestions? This pc is an HP laptop with Vista 32. I have spent in excess of 3 hours with the 'support' at HP to get it to work to no avail. Thanks for any input and Best wishes to you and yours, Pat
  23. I am pretty sure I need this file for my Vista PC. I just don't know what to do. I downloaded the .txt and read it, but how do I use it? I am not familiar with registry edits. Pat :?
