WOTW # 33 Microscopic World !
WOTW Comp Rules: All submissions must be created in Paint.net with the exception of renders and stock photos when allowed.
Minimum size is 800 X 600. There is no maximum size, but keep in mind that people will want to look at your image
and if it takes too long to load, they may not look at it.
Please try to make your image in the proportion of a Wallpaper, because this is a Wallpaper comp. (Duh!)
NO PLACEHOLDERS Do not post an entry until it is a finished product. NO WIPS !
Obviously you cannot use the stocks or renders as your entire submission, so the majority of your image should be

This comp will run for TWO Weeks !

And one more question (sorry!):
It says max dimensions are 500 x 200. Since the forum limits are 500 x 150, can we stick with that instead? Or do we have to go up to 200?

If you want to maximize the area you can work with then you can make it the larger size (500 x 200) but if you think you might want to use it as a forum sig on this forum then you will want to make it the smaller size (500 x 150). I like to change my sig from time to time and making them all 500 x 150 insures that I'll always have a ready supply of new sigs. Ironically, I've not changed my sig in weeks, but I think you know what I mean.
One thing that a lot of artists on this forum like to do is to make your original image twice the size of the finished version and scale it down by 50% when they save it as a .png. It gives you a bigger canvas to work with and you get a much smoother end result.

im actually working on a submision for the SAC awards but its taking me way longer than i thought.. getting too involved in it

It did. This is all an illusion. You are merely a butterfly dreaming that you are a human posting on a forum about Paint.Net. A very artistic butterfly with great digital dexterity and a knack for making great digital graphics.

SAC Comp Rules:
All submissions must be created in Paint.net with the exception of renders and stock photos when allowed.
When they are allowed, obviously you cannot use the stocks or renders as your entire submission, so the majority of your image should be created in Paint.net.
When Theme Rules allow, you must post a link to any stocks, renders, images or parts of images you did not create in Paint.net,
i.e. fractals created in a fractal generator program or textures created in another program of any kind.

It can be aliens or space crafts or it can be from the earth space program.
The point is, you can make anything you want as long as it is a space related image.
You may include any other non-space objects like people, cars, boats, trees, possums etc.
You MAY NOT use STOCKS AND/OR RENDERS ! You may use another program to create parts of your image i.e. Apophysis, Gimp, Incendia, Photoshop, etc.
The majority of your image should be made in Paint.net (unless it's really freakin cool).
The use of other programs should be limited to the creation of textures and minor elements of your image.
(Remember, Possum’s have a sixth sense about things like this, do don’t make me hunt you down.
So with that in mind, special rule #5 is in effect for this competition ).
THIS COMP WILL RUN FOR 2 WEEKS ! (Or until I can drag myself to a computer to close it)

Since this is a forum that is represented by artists from all over the world, you may choose to make your theme specific to your country or region or one that you have never been to.
1890's 1900's 1910's 1920's 1930's 1940's
1950's 1960's 1970's 1980's 1990's
The Theme Specifics IMPORTANT!
You MUST use Stocks photos for this round ! Do your research !
If photos are not available for the earlier decades, etchings or paintings will be allowed.
You MUST have text somewhere in your wallpaper that indicates the decade that you chose.
It MUST be conspicuous in it's placement. (That means I have to be able to see it real easy)
It's is understandable that some time periods will overlap so try to be as specific as you can in your stock image selection as possible.
You must use Paint.Net but you may also use other graphics programs as well.

I like Mountnman's suggestion for a decade that we remember the best but we should be allowed to use stock as well.
No seeing any additional discussion, Mountnman's suggestion will be the next theme. Give me some time to write up the particulars and I'll have it posted as soon as I can. I should caution everyone that I might throw in a twist or two just to keep you all off balance, because that's the way possums roll. (Oh yeah ! I've been waiting for a chance to use that line!)
