Thanks for commenting on my sig. Seem I usually get more comment about sig than about artwork. Weird.
Anyway, I love what you do with Mandelbulb. I once downloaded it, played with it for a short while and decided it wasn't for me. Some of your Mandelbulb works are very impressive.

Question for you - the arrows and line pattern you use around the orb, are those just straight line tool? I know, it's a dumb question, but I have always wondered and didn't think to ever ask till now. For some reason, I like the pattern better on the bottom left instead of in the orb. I mean, the jewel pattern on the bottom left instead of in the orb. Either way, it's a pretty design.

Very beautiful work, Helen. And it's different. The dark blue and the mute orange, a departure from the cheerful and bright colors you typically employ. It's still a lovely piece.

My first 2012 art piece. I decided that I wanted to focus on two art styles this year - space scape art and 3D science fiction art. To kick start the campaign, I made the "2012: The Journey Begins" this morning, and I had fun making this. Apophysis 7X was used to make the nebula and the rest was done in PDN.

It sounded almost like he was asking what you suggested to do, yellowman, and it also sounded like he wanted to have the background added in SketchUp. Could be either way. I guess I'll wait and see what he was gunning for.

YES...SKETCHUP IS COMPLICATED BUT I HAD NOWHERE NEAR THE TROUBLE WITH THAT AS MUCH AS I'M HAVING WITH THIS. I'M TRYING TO PUT BACKGROUNDS IN MY LANDSCAPE MODELS BUT CAN'T GET AN ACCURATE TUTORIAL OF WHAT I'M SUPPOSE TO DO TO ACCOMPLISH THE TASK. I'VE HAD 3 REPLIES TO MY POSTS AND ALL OF THEM WERE SO VAGUE THAT I COULDN'T EVEN BEGIN TO MAKE THEM WORK. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE CAN'T JUST TELL SOMEONE ALL OF THE STEPS TO DO A THING. TO THEM IT'S AN EASY THING TO DO BUT TO ME IT'S COMPLEX AS HELL...THIS IS THE FIRST THING I'VE TRIED TO DO WITHIN THIS PROGRAM AND I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR 6 DAYS WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. I THINK I'VE CLICKED ON EVERY SINGLE BUTTON TRYING TO FIND THE WAY BUT NOTHING I'VE DONE WORKS.

Anyway, having used SketchUp before, I once ran into a similar problem like you, but never gave it a try. This link might be your best bet to get help. Also, since you are asking a question that's largely related to SketchUp, I strongly recommend signing up at SketchUcation forums. I am sure there has been users with similar problems you ran into.

Wow, I have seen your works (I have been lurking in the shadows for quite some time), but they are all equally impressive. No pressure sensitivity in PDN, no problem according to your works, and I simply don't have the drawing ability to do that. Very impressive works, and I'm a little jealous you can draw better than me.

This kind of tutorial could be used for cubism art. Funny, I was looking at an Illustrator tutorial, and the steps were somewhat similar.

Thank you, Helen, Welshy, and Barbie. Just so people are clear, I used Blender to create the mask and fractal, and then used PDN to put it all together.
Welshy, I wanted to have a clean slate, which is why I asked to have the other gallery locked.

This is an interesting idea. However, I think this effect can be used similar to Twist plug-in (there's two, one of them by pyrochild), and I could achieve similar effect using pyrochild's liquifying plug-in. I'm not knocking your effort. It seem there's more option in this one than with Twist.

This topic had my interest as I used PDN to do photo editing. I use the following technique to "correct" white balance. BoltBait is right, it's a grey card technique, and professional photographer use grey card to calibrate their equipment to have true white balance in their photograph.
To achieve it without plug-in-
1) Expand canvas size 100 pixels on the largest side, tick maintain proportion to on.
2) Use the color wheel and select either grey or light grey as the primary color, and bucket fill it around the white border. Sometime the grey color will overlap the photograph. One trick I have discovered is to set the secondary color to full transparency before changing canvas size.
3) Run levels (don't use Auto Level!) and adjust settings until you perceive the color to be desirable and pleasing to the eyes.
4) Set the canvas back to the original size (-100 pixels on the largest side).

Hey, pyro, I wanted to know if it was possible to add an eyedropper tool to your already wonderful Curves+ plug-in. The reason I'm asking because I do some photography editing, and being able to use the eyedropper to select a source color (grey) to do color correction.

I figured it was Paint.NET that had trouble reading TIF file.
Thanks for pointing out the tutorial, I think I have attempted something similar like that before.

I am using a free software called "picturenaut" to create HDR photography. It basically merge three exposures of a single scene and create a HDR image. It saves to TIF format, and whenever I try to open it in PDN, it reports an error in reading the file.
I am not sure if this is Paint.NET or picturenaut problem. I thought I'd try this first before I try the picturenaut's website.

@pyrochild, I downloaded the beta, and thought I'd give you a feedback. I noticed it is faster and smooth when smudging. Even though I have used Smudge a lot, I never realized the hidden power of "Smoothness" until I played with it, and I liked it a lot.
Is there any way you could add a visible clue to inform users there is an ability to add background color? It seem it is accessible only by right-clicking in the interface window, which was something I figured out by accident, and I saw your discussion between Sarkut and yourself.
It also took me a couple attempts to add a new brush to the palette, if you will, and I think it's because I didn't read through the first post, and didn't see a "Ok" or "Cancel" button on the bottom of the browsing window. Is this remediable?

1) There isn't any. The only thing I see is to set "Translucent" and "Aero Glass."
2) The dialog box is to help you make sure you are making an informed decision every time; otherwise, there'll be flood of posts that contain question of why Paint.NET isn't behaving the way folks think it should behave.
3) I think this has been addressed before. Are you using the latest version, v3.5.8?

Tried to look up Charleston's art work, and only got Charleston, a town in South Carolina. I remember you had made something like this, let me look...(at my dA favorite collections, that is), and I see at least 3 pieces you did that had similar faces. "Hear No Evil," "Spring Queen," and "I See Red" are the pieces that jumps out at me with similar styles. It's good to see those styles from you again. Been a while. Not that I don't enjoy your abstract pieces.
