but there are a lot of things to skin...there are many sites out there and there are many programms -
damn sorry im not entering this one...my design has failed me
and definately after seeing expirations i doubt many will enter im going to work really hard on the next one with major planning on paper and stuff

Same for me. All the pros are going to submit their entries at the last moment. This means - guaranteed LOSE for me.

positive is not always a good thing though..its strong constructive critism on things to look at and improve in the future...many people take it harsh and start arguing like this person did when me and a friend said a few things this person could improve on his ut2004 map (it had bad scripting we told him to improve that...we told him to improve the emmiters so it wasnt soo laggy and was jsut one big emmiter not thousands etc etc)

looks like hard wood floor to me...my sister has laminated wood flooring and it looks the same...

there is a loads easier way...
get the psd plugin then make each part of the anim as a layer then save it...
get gimp open it (gimp holds psd's)
then animate it in gimp thats what i do but you cant have a delay you just have to duplicate eeach layer to get the desired time...and you can blur it in aswell or make it into a sphere
thats what i do it saves downloading a program that i dont trust -
every computer (apart from the 2 macs) has paint.net on it but they dont all have the newest version
and they have no plugins either im gonna get my dad to talk to the it technician (my dads the technology technician) and tell him to get some plugins lol -

All that I know to do is that the first layer should be the beginning and keep the layers going and the last layer should be the end frame.
EDIT: I just made a tut
yea thats right...ive never made one my self but im thinking it uses the same way as animated/changing brushes in gimp. each layer is the next frame

You've got some stair-stepping on your sheen. Have you tried making the lower curve with the Line/Curve tool? I see you've got a horizontal fade going on, but you could make the sheen solid white using the Rounded Rectangle for the top and the Line/Curve tool for the bottom curve, then use the Gradient tool in Alpha Blending mode to accomplish a similar effect.
