Lynx, I believe I shot one of those trees, but didn't know what it was..
Anyway, digging back through some old photos, I found one of my old faithful friend that I had to use with this filter.....

Lynx, what is a 'smoke' tree? Is it just a tree that he smoked under?
Yeah, this two option rep count is very confusing. I'm not sure which one to click on and usually click both.

You can make track mattes for video in Paint.net, but animating them would be much easier to do in a Video Editor/Compositor.

You're probably right Red. I'm a big fan of your "Object Edge" filter, so I will go to it whenever I want to darken (or brighten) the edges of an object for whatever reason. Plus it needs to be compatible with PDN v3.5.11 since I'm running Linux and use PDN under wine. Many new filters just won't work, so I don't bother testing them....

Applying Red's "ObjectEdge" filter to text, then running Tone-Gradient-Angle results in a nice Chiseled Text effect...

Red, I just used standard text with Gaussian blur at 13. I set the Light Angle to 170 degrees.
Here is the before image:
Here's how the effect looks with less blur:

Thanks Lynx, Red and Pixey. For anyone interested, I made the Extrude animation in a gimp plugin called G'mic. the filter I used is called "3D Extrude (animated)", it can be found under Sequences>3d Extrusion [animated]. It works well with text or a 2d object. I exported to psd with all frames and imported into PDN because it has a better gif generator than gimp. That's also where I made used this plugin.
Unfortunately this plugin won't work in Paint.NET. They do have an On-Line version you can use however.

Here is the interface:

Thanks Red. Here is a combination of two of your plugins. In this case I used Tone Gradient Angle to make the reflection map using clouds as source. I then overlayed the reflection map when exporting GIF, as apposed to applying Tone Gradient Angle to each frame like I did in the previous animation.

Much better upscaling algorithms out there, if you ask me. But, draw your own conclusions.....

The new Surface Laptop comes with Windows 10 S. This edition is designed for security so runs apps only from Windows Store.
Are you kidding me? And this is supposed to be a feature???
Thank God I don't have any need for Windoze anymore. Yet another flop for Micro$oft in the making...

Just checked that link. I'm guessing that Roger White dude is from Massachusetts. I mean he has Swansea, Newtown and Milford fonts. All towns/cities in Massachusetts. I grew up in Milford, Mass....

As for the font, I suggest Roger White's Hanford Script if its aspect may be of any appeal. It looks elegant to me, and it's currently free to use even for commercial purposes.
Thanks Max, that looks interesting..

When was rule #0 added? I don't recall seeing that before. Is it a good idea to change the rules during a comp?
No matter, it is what it is. I'm not going to make a new one. If you don't like mine, don't submit it for voting. I'm cool with that....
