Rashaln Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I downloaded Paint.NET not long ago, and recently wanted to draw something, but when I tried to run it, nothing happened, i tried running from the start menu, and from a shortcut, and finally the main .exe file. So I figured I'd remove it and re-install, but while trying to remove the program via Add/Remove programs, I received this error: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. And when trying to repair the program I received this error: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click on OK the try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the intallation package 'PaintDotNet_1931808778.msi' in the box below. Upon clicking OK I recieved the message: The path 'C:Program Files\Paint.NET\Staging\PaintDotNet_1931808778.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'PaintDotNet_1931808778.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product Paint.NET v2.5 Beta 4. When trying the browse command for trying to find the right file, and searching for the file using the search function on my computer, I couldn't find it. I cannot remove the files using Add/Remove Programs, I cannot repair the program or install anew. Any help possibly offered would be much appreciated, whether it's a fix, or advice of somewhere else to receive help. Quote
Rick Brewster Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Have you tried using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility as described here? http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... si+cleanup (2nd to the last post, by me) Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
Rashaln Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 Still didn't work, and the error still remained, but I won't be needing the program on this computer anyways, as I am switching computers. Thanks though! Quote
