DarkShock
Are you just trying to take a transparent background and add color to it? If so, select your desired tool (paint bucket, paint brush, etc.) and begin to fill the background layer with color. If the background doesn't have it's own layer then I suggest the paint brush tool. DarkShock
No problem. Just select the color you want using the colors window. If it's not open press F8. Welcome to the forum. Telegramwire
Dark, Thanks. I've tried using the paintbrush (bcos the bucket floods the image obscuring it) however, at the rate I'm going with the paintbrush, I'll be 200 years old when I'm finished! Is there a faster way to use paintbrush? Thanks TW
Telegramwire
Ha... Solved it! I've increased the brush width so I should be done in 10 mins. Thanks TW
Daniels
If the background on your photo is transparent, just create a new layer, move it below your foreground, and fill the bottom layer with the colour of your choice.... Saves a load of time as opposed to using the brush... Edited September 29, 2013 by Daniels Quote Logo/Banner Competition My Gallery
Telegramwire
Hi Daniels, Thanks for that bit of wisdom. But how to create a new layer and move it below the background! Sounds Easy? Hmmm... Never underestimate the breadth and depth of human stupidity i.e. ME! :-) Thanks again.. Best.. TW
Telegramwire
Welshblue!!! Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you..... I did everything and it worked. I got the background coloured and it looked great.... but right at the end, I felt a bit like Zsa Zsa Gabor..."I know I've done this stuff seven times before..,,I just don't know how to make it interesting for myself by sealing the deal.... Question: How then do I combine the newly painted layer with the image layer especially since both are called "Layer 2"! Help! ;-) TW
