How paints are fading?

Hello, welcome to the forums.

What you are asking for can easily be accomplished using the gradient tool. Here's a picture of one color fading to another and I'll explain how it is done:

GradientExample.png

First, on the color wheel select your two colors (see lower left of picture). You can select your color by simply clicking on the circular "color wheel". This will designate your primary color. To do your secondary color, from the pull-down (upper left of the same designated area) select "Secondary" and once again click in the color wheel.

Next, select the gradient tool from the tool bar (midway up in the above picture on the left).

Next, select the "linear gradient" as indicated by the arrow in the upper left corner of the picture.

Now, go to the canvas (which should currently be white), click just below it in the center and while still holding your mouse button in, drag your mouse upward to about midway through the canvas.

You should now have something similar to what is shown.

I hope this helps you.

Also, there is a similar request at the link below on fading colors on an image which uses the same technique:

http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/23700-how-to-fade-a-picture-into-black-or-any-other-color/

One more note, please read the rules here:

http://forums.getpai...his-2010-12-31/

Rule number 6 reads:

6) Thread titles must be descriptive and specific -- NOT generic. You need to use descriptive thread titles. The following are examples of thread titles that are NOT ALLOWED:

"Help"

"Please help"

"I need help"

"Can you help"

"HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!" (if you post like this you WILL be banned)

"Tutorial request"

"Feature request"

You addressed this as simply "Hi". Although this may get somebody's attention to respond to you, it does not help others who come here looking for the same information that you are asking for.

Using a subject like, "Need help fading colors" would have been more appropriate. You can always give people a greeting within the text of your request and using a subject that is more descriptive of your need will provide people to do a search in the forums to find this same information days, weeks, months or even years from now.

Thank you.
