subzero22 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 First time I got paint.net it installed pretty fast. This time well it's taking too long. It's been 30 minutes and it's still at the optimizing performance for my system. First time I installed it, it went pretty quick. I've also closed all programs before starting. I just chrome to ask this question but why is it taking so long? I have: Win 7 Ultimate 3 gig ram 2.2 ghz cpu Quote
Rick Brewster Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Maybe you installed an update to Windows or .NET which required all of the .NET Framework to be recompiled (ngen). Usually when that happens the recompile (ngen) gets done when your PC is idle, but if you also update Paint.NET soon afterwards then it can take awhile. Especially if your CPU is slow. ("2.2ghz" doesn't tell me much. Pentium 4? Athlon 64? Core 2 Duo? Celeron? Core i7? All available at 2.2GHz but with a total 5x spread on performance) Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
