ventor1
1. Open up the image in Paint.Net 2. At the menu (top of the screen) go into "Layers" and select "Add New Layer". 3. Add your text in the new layer which you have just created. 4. As you now have 2 layers, I am assuming that you want a single layered image? Accordingly, at the Menu go to "File" and select "Save As", and save your file in whatever format you would like. Cheers, V.

Sarkut
Do you have to copy/paste in a pre-made text box? Can't simply make new text? =========================================== What you need to do will depend on the character of both the text in the text box, and the background image. You might be able to do what you want by setting the Layer Properties of the text layer to Multiply blending mode. holland3346
Did anyone figure this out? I'm new to Paint.net & have followed the instructions but my text still isn't showing up. I put a photo in Paint.net, added 2 ovals around it, copied the image so I could put multiples of this design on the sheet. But I need to add different text (name) on top of each design. The text cursor shows up & moves like I'm typing but I can't see the text?? I've added layers & it still doesn't show up. Please help.. I need this figured out so I can make some money with this project! .
Sarkut
Be sure that you are working on a new layer that is the top layer. Be sure that your Primary color is a contrasting color. (eg. not applying white (or transparent) text over a white background) Press Esc before engaging the text tool. holland3346
How do I make sure I'm working on the top layer? When I add a new layer, I assumed it would put what I"m doing on the top layer, is that not the case?
Sarkut
If you have only one layer, when you add a new layer it will be the top layer. If you have multiple layers, when you add a new layer it will be created above the layer that was active when you added the new layer. So, in the Layers window, click on the top layer to make it the active layer. Then add a new layer. The new layer will be the top layer. ===================================================== If you add text to a layer that is not the top layer, it may be blocked from view by an upper visible layer. It's OK to put text on a layer that isn't the top layer so long as you keep in mind that higher layers may (or might not) block the view of the text. I need to paste it from Word because I used word art to make the word arc like the rainbow I am placing it on. Multiply worked but it dulled the red color of the letters, any ideas on how to keep the letter color the same? Thank you for your help! Sarkut
You could remove the white using the Grim Color Reaper plugin. Grim Color Reaper Leave the Blending mode set to Normal. ======================================= You could make the curved text black-and-white and use it as an alpha mask on a solid red layer. Alpha Mask ======================================= Or make the curved text in Paint.NET on a new layer using the Circle Text plugin. Circle Text .
