ragette Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 i'm developing a jpeg commenter - fast comment additions/ database/ and search functions while working through various photo editors i find that paint.net upon editing a jpeg removes comments from jpeg file format comment marker section and inserts them into the exif user comment section if the program redits the jpeg after user adds comments to the JPEG part of the header paint.net will move the comments in the jpeg part of the header and then overwrite the exif user comment section with the new comments from the JPEG section is this clear and why does paint.net do this?? Rick Brewster Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Paint.NET does this because it's apparently what the GDI+ codecs do. Behavior may be different in Win7, where the GDI+ codecs were rewritten to be wrappers over WIC.
