tsmay51
I have downloaded and installed plugin for aligning objects. I want to make some desktop backgrounds at 1680x1050 with some smaller pictures centered on them. I cannot seem to get the plugin to center them. Any ideas. It is like it does nothing when used. Curmudgeon
first, open up your background then, make a new layer :AddNewLayer: on the new layer, paste your smaller picture. press Ctrl-D to deselect (my guess is that you didn't deselect before running the align object) then run align object. if you don't want it exactly centered, you can use the panelling plugin as well to move it vertically or horizontally
tsmay51
Thanks... That worked like a charm. Don't know why it has to be so complex though.
david.atwell
When you just paste it onto the same layer as the background, how does it know what the new item is and what the background is? How can it tell? It's like trying to align dye in water; it can't be done because there's no way to separate the dye from the water. But if you drop the dye onto a glass dish above the water, it's much easier to arrange it. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
