littlebigman Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Hello, What's the right way in 2024 to highlight text? What tool should I use after setting Blend mode = Multiply in the Layer Properties (Layers > Layer Properties, shortcut: F4)? The Paintbrush has a bunch of options, provided it is the right tool for the job. Thank you. Quote
Solution Tactilis Posted January 17 Solution Posted January 17 Use either of these techniques: A. With a separate Layer 1. Use the line tool to draw a line in the layer, with an appropriate brush size. Press Shift while drawing to give a horizontal line. 2. Reduce the layer opacity as required. B. In the same Layer 1. Use the line tool to draw a line, with an appropriate brush size and with the Blend Mode set to Multiply. Press Shift while drawing to give a horizontal line. The advantage of using a separate layer is that you can remove the highlighting at a later time if you wish. 1 Quote
HankP Posted January 18 Posted January 18 You can also put the "highlighter" layer UNDER the text layer, and that way you do not need to make it transparent. Quote

I was assuming that the OP was trying to highlight text on an existing image; i.e that they already had the text and the white background in a single layer. Quote
