osyu Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 (edited) Hi, I've noticed that when scaling images down using nearest-neighbor, the pixels it samples from are offset when using the Resize dialog versus using Move Selected Pixels, particularly causing pixel art to be far blurrier when using Resize (especially when the initial size is not a multiple of desired size): Is this behavior a bug? I've tried rescaling this same image in some other programs/libraries like ImageMagick and PIL and they worked fine, producing the exact same result as Move Selected Pixels, so I assume Resize is producing incorrect results here. osyu Posted September 29, 2021 Author Posted September 29, 2021 Original image: For Resize: - Open Resize dialog, enter 256x192 as the desired pixel size and hit OK For Move Selected Pixels: - Select the tool and set Quality to Nearest Neighbor - Manually scale the image by dragging it down to 256x192 in size Quote

Solution Rick Brewster Posted March 1, 2022 Solution Posted March 1, 2022 I figured this out -- the pixel offsets were off by 0.5 pixels I can have a fix in the 4.3.9 update 2 Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
