MikeDI Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 Paint.Net consistently crashes on startup if the Dolphin SuperNova screen magnifier (assistive software for people with vision impairments) is running. The crash occurs both with and without Hardware Acceleration being enabled. The error reported is not consistent, often an empty pdncrash.log is created and the application shows no on-screen error, it simply doesn't start. Sometimes an AccessViolationException is thrown - crash logs attached (18 has Hardware Acceleration enabled, 23 has it disabled). Please investigate and fix. pdncrash.18.log pdncrash.23.log Quote
Rick Brewster Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 Thanks for the crash log -- that'll help me to at least detect this and notify the user about which program is causing this. You'll need to report this to the Dolphin SuperNova folks so that they can fix it on their side. This is not a bug in Paint.NET, nor is it fixable on my side. They're injecting themselves into the Paint.NET process (and probably all other programs) and doing stuff.
