LucasD
I'm trying to make a pattern have an opacity that changes in a gradient, meaning on one side it is opaque, and as you move on it transitions to transparent. In photoshop you would use a masking layer to do this but I am not sure how to accomplish this in pdn. dipstick
It works pretty much the same way. Make a black/white mask and change blending mode to "Screen". Mask used: Edited December 24, 2016 by dipstick
LucasD
Nevermind, I figured it out, I needed to do Effects > Object > Alpha Mask.
dipstick
Yeah, I figured that you would've figured it out. If you didn't, I would've recommended the "Alpha Mask" plugin. Good to know you did it on your own though.....

Many effects are not included with Paint.net. You can get the effects/plugins you need in the Plugins- Publishing Thread. If you install Boltbait's pack you will find another effect (Paste Alpha) that works just like Alpha Mask.
