Masking layer alternative?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to make a pattern have an opacity that changes in a gradient, meaning on one side it is opaque, and as you move on it transitions to transparent. In photoshop you would use a masking layer to do this but I am not sure how to accomplish this in pdn.

hello! i can't see this option in my Paint.NET. are you using some plugin or beta version of the program? i updated mine a minute ago and i couldn't find neither Object nor Alpha Mask options anywhere.

Many effects are not included with Paint.net. You can get the effects/plugins you need in the Plugins- Publishing Thread.

If you install Boltbait's pack you will find another effect (Paste Alpha) that works just like Alpha Mask.
