Octavio1221
I just want to take my transparent background image that is on .PNG and transfer it to an Adobe Illustrator transparent background. Is that possible? I do not have adobe illustrator, I love PAINT.NET and just need my .PNGs to become .AI to "ensure top quality on apparel"
MJW
I admittedly don't know much about this, but I do know that Adobe Illustrator is vector based, which makes me doubt raster PNG files can converted by Paint.Net to AI files. You might look at Inkscape.
Octavio1221
Yeah I was looking at inkscape that saves to .PNG and .EPS. For the vendor i'm working with it has to .AI I found a generator that transfers .PNG to .AI, but it puts a white background on my image every time. That's a no-go of course. I really don't want to have to purchase AI just to convert files to vector files. What a monopoly. Thank you for your submission MJW! MJW
You might want to read the Wikipedia Adobe Illustrator Artwork article. It lists a number of programs, such as Scribus, that might help.
Octavio1221
Thanks again MJW, I'll read it and tell you if it solved the issue. Thanks again for persistently trying to help me out! It is appreciated.
dipstick
Save as ".SVG" that should keep the vector intact and AI should be able to open it. If it can't, shame on them....
