reubenb Posted July 7, 2008 Share Posted July 7, 2008 O/S is WinXP Professional SP 3, with Framework 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 installed. When I attempt to install paint.net I get the following cryptic message: "There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor" Click OK and I get the following error message "Error while installing Paint.NET. (1603)" Searching Microsoft site for info on the 1603 error message produces yet more cryptic stuff about security settings, which are not applicable because I am installing to a FAT 32 drive. All I can really say is to go to search and type in 1603 here on the forums and start looking through the other post about it to see if any offer anything helpful.
