Clearing up an image

I'm trying to get the white off the edges of the black stripes but am stuck i tried searching but nothing turned up.

i believe it can easily be done but i haven't the slightest clue how

It looks like you used the magic wand tool and made the white things.

If i was you i would

1)New canvas (whatever size)

2)New layer

3)Make your primary colour black and secondary transparent

4)Run LightRays

5)Back to first layer and do the brown to grey gradient

But if you really want to fix that picture i would do a gaussian blur untill you cant notice it
