  1. A little over a week ago, I set out to try to master the art of creating cursors from scratch since I am familiar with them but haven't gotten a chance to spend much time with them in detail. After a day or two, I had posted my results with the first few I made (and a gracious thank you to the plug in creator) but at the time thought it would take longer to finish as I had some very specific ideas on exactly what I wanted.

Icon, Cursor, and Animated Cursor Format v3.7 thread

I had a trip over the weekend and couldn't finish them which only made me want to even more, I guess that must have worked as I finished them way faster than I thought I would. Mission succeesssful!!!

arrows3dclockv2.gif - Once again the only animation I used for now. I want a laughing jolly rogers skull for sure to use when I can't click something in the future.

Image below is the PDN template file I am happy to share if anyone would like it so you guys can make your own in seconds.

I very much wanted an updated look on my computer that was matching since the mouse pointer from the 90's with all those little hand symbols and the hourglass are all cool but way outdated in my opinion. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the arrows system I have now. :D Cheers everyone! toast.gif

  2. Great work Madjik! I usually use a lot of buttons for web design and video game textures. This should make it much easier to creat great looking buttons very quickly! :D

The one I created with this plug in. I always make the "Start Engine" button in tons of different styles.

    One of my regular buttons.

  3. I love creating my own icons & cursors all thanks to PDN and this plug-in! :D Instead of a bunch of tiny arrows, hands, and symbols, I created arrowhead style cursors that change color depending on what the mouse is hovering over. It turns green for a link you can click, blue for text areas, yellow for handwriting, and red for anything it can't do. I made them bigger so you guys can see them easier. :D

timerarrowbig.gif    <<< Is the only animated cursor I'm using, the rest are normal stationary cursors shown below.

  4. NN79 and Mr.Bobert both have awesome pieces! NN79's looks exactly like the in-line type 40Amp fuse for my car stereo amplifier and has that techy look to it! :D Mr.B's has some epic details in it like the upper rings that you can't really see here but show up nicely against a dark background. It almost looks like an intro to a sci fi TV show, for that I had to give it my vote. :D

  5. I've never gotten a 1603 error code but according to Microsoft, it has to do with an .msi installer file issue due to one of the following conditions:

    1) The folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is encrypted.

    2) The drive that contains the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is accessed as a substitute drive.

    3) The SYSTEM account does not have Full Control permissions on the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to. You notice the error message because the Windows Installer service uses the SYSTEM account to install software.

...and the solutions to it are:

    1) Install the package to a folder that is not encrypted.

    2) Install the package to a drive that is not accessed as a substitute drive.

    3) Grant Full Control permissions to the SYSTEM account. (for Windows 2000 and Windows XP only)

If this isn't helpful, try searching through Google for your computer model and any relevant issues. Odds are you'll find the soultion there. :D

  6. EER is correct however it is also due to the web browser you're using kshaw86. Internet Explorer is notoriously known for being unstable in addition to it automatically allowing nearly every script and object on any website you go to. Try Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, or Apple Safari web browsers.

I never download anything until I know the exact developer and website that created any and all applications that I download while avoiding stuff from third-party sources as many are untrusted. Hope that helps! :D

  7. Congrats to JF on the last match! :D Drew's and AGJM's entries both have qualities I like. AGJM's has some really nice color transitions and would work nicely as a wallpaper. Drew's looks a bit cool when the colors were inverted from the siggy as it has a lava / magma texture to it. Hard choice but I had to go with Drew's for the 3-dimensional factor as the drop shadow outline and the downward-facing lit surfaces add depth to it. Great job guys!

    AGJM - 0 (+1 rep'd as I would definitely use that as a wallpaper)

  8. Awww man Sasha's and Welsh both have great entries. I like Sasha's color choices as purple is one of my favorite colors plus the metallic theme font. I like Welsh's for the grid tile texture background and the metal texture fonts, and I had to go with that one. You both made epic siggy's and definitely was a hard choice!

    Welsh - 3

Welsh is the winner of this round, congrats! I've been waiting to enter this siggy, hope you guys like it. Good luck to my challenger! :D

  9. Penguin's is ok as I like the perspective angle and the seal theme but I had to go with Ekstaze for the 3D-like depth and colors. The text looks a bit plain but I really like Eks's use of color fading and origami style shapes, something I haven't seen much of but really does stand out. Great job you guys! :D

  10. Been a sucker for metal and grid style textures I have to say Xzerizon has captured it right. :)

Totally agree on that one as those are 2 themes I use frequently. Hopefully the 3rd vote will come soon as I made a new metal texture background and came up with a killer battle siggy which I'm looking forward to sharing with you guys. excitede.gif

  11. Thanks Helen! I have quite a bit more however uploading them all and coding each one to be displayed takes a while. It's mostly logos, wallpapers, graphic interfaces & buttons, help images, and some gaming stuff. :D

That particular game is called "Live For Speed" or "LFS" for short Sozo, it's kind of like Gran Turismo but online. You can customize everything in the game graphics-wise and is like a major aspect to it's appeal. :D

  12. I usually just type in the BB code but the issue with not being able to click the WYSIWIG / Editor modes sounds like a java update issue or a plug-in for your web browser such as No-Script that may be preventing elements on the page from loading properly. If you haven't updated your Java or Web browser lately, try that as that's usually the easiest way to fix most issues. :D

  13. Drew's looks cool but I have to admit the colors makes me want a hot dog or some chili cheese fries lol, good job though nonetheless! Minners siggy got my vote though due to the depth and the metallic look as it's one of my favorite styles! Epic job! :D

And congrats to Chimay, :D that piece is quite impressive indeed! Thanks guys (and gals lol) as I do appreciate the feedback very much! My siggy's for this thread are 100% PDN unless it's an animated one in which case I use 2 programs so it's a 50% PDN for all graphics and textures, and 50% FLaX to compile the graphics into a compuserv gif.

I do love graffiti style text and abstract art among many other things which does use quite a lot of colors that contrast each other so it's what I use quite often. I usually use PDN for creating help images for work, user interfaces, wallpapers, and logos so a lot of my stuff is kind of basic. :D I'm actually hoping to catch RRoller in a siggy battle some day as that would be a great one since our styles are very similar.
