I wouldn't doubt it, when I consider that the computer is a few years old, but I ran Dell's pre boot system tests that are a part of it's bios just last week, and there were no problems found with the memory modules, only that the battery is at half of it's expected life span.
These crashes occurred when I held down ctrl- and zoomed all the way out, and then ctrl+, zooming all the way in, in succession. I repeated this a couple times, and each time I tried it, I crashed. Now of course this isn't something that people will be normally doing, so it's probably not critical, but it does bare looking into I think.
