BREAKING NEWS ... Kieran Gibbs has been found guilty in the Oscar Pistorious trial ...
And he has been given a SIX years, SIX month, SIX day sentence!
At least I got some decent points in my Fantasy Footy. Maybe Wenger should stick to that.
Thanks for popping in johnnysdream. Glad you like my stuff.

Great job, Goon. I think it could look like a printed circuit board. Try to see some sample images on the internet and I think you will get it.
Thanks Trev. My thoughts entirely. I have already been browsing images of circuit boards for ideas and have started on making mine into one. Slow going at the moment though.
Nice work Seerose.

Here is my go using this tut. I zoomed right in for a close up. I thought of making it into a printed circuit board (great minds think alike eh Trev? ) but the first go was not brilliant so I left it as it is for now.

Might be similar but no two are the same so it will be interesting to compare.
Welshy your sig does not show . All I see is a link saying sun.png.
-
Sure will. At the moment I'm a bit busy at work though so don't expect to see a rush of pics. Thanks for taking a look.

Good grief this is from 6 years ago! Have I really been here all that time? As to your question, if the link would have taken you to a different forum back then I would have mentioned it.
Back then the PDN Forum was very different, and that link did take you to a tutorial on the forum. But it has been upgraded a lot since then and a lot of tutorials have been removed along the way. When I click on this link now I do get taken to a forumer forum but get told that the `the requested topic does not exist' so that was probably one of them.

Ain't that the truth ... although there's something to be said for rubber walls and jackets that keep your posture straight
Can`t think of an answer to that!
Spot on skullbonz, thats just what I did. Interesting suggestion about dents and wobble. Thanks for the tip.
Dryda I do know what you mean about the solar flares it is a nice idea. Need some practice with the smudge tool though. As to the busier background ,the brightness of the sun drowns out any background stars so adding them would not really be realistic. If I was showing the sun from a distance then yes but not in a close up like this. I have looked at reference photos on Google Images and none of them show stars, just blackness.
Glad you like the texture. It was one of those stumble upon moments where you are just doodling and bingo! Up pops a nice looking texture . I used the colour picker on a photo to try to get the colours right.
You got me interested so I did a search on the forum for the tut you were talking about. Is this the one? - http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/17644-sun-tutorial/
You are right about the similarity to mine. It might come in handy so I have bookmarked it for the future.
Thanks everyone for the comments and ideas. Much appreciated.

Thanks skullbonz. I might have a play around with the file , see if I can make some decent solar flares. The image is called Transit because the black spot in front of the sun is Mercury (or it could be Venus if you prefer.) When either one passes in front of the sun like this it is referred as a transit.
Here`s some more info if your`re interested - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astronomical_transit
Thanks Pixey, of course you are right about it being a planet. From on Earth it could only be either of the planets mentioned. Maybe it could do with a small amount of blurring, but it depends if it is Mercury or Venus really. Mercury has no atmosphere whereas as Venus does. So on that basis I think I will refer to the planet as Mercury.
Thanks Daniels, realistic space scenes have always been my faves.
Welshy you are more likely to a man in a white coat!
I`m sure any spacescape of yours will be excellent, I look forward to seeing it.
I must admit it is nice to be posting again, although I`m busy busy at work at the moment with the start of the new season and all that so I try to fit PDN in where I can but it means there won`t be too many pics for now.

Great for getting a tan though eh Helen?
Goonfella! My God, What beautiful Gallery. My favorites are Spice images. Thank you.
You had me looking for the spice images in my gallery which I could not remember doing - until I realized you meant space images!
Thanks for taking a look.

New image posted. This one is called Transit. I thought I would make use of the sun I created for the SOTW compo in a larger image. Hope you like it.
-
Thanks very much . Glad you like my stuff.

Superb collection of typography pics. You said in my thread you struggle with 3D space. Well it`s the same for me but different. I usually struggle with typography pics. That`s why there are not many in my gallery.
Welshy is right on with his comment. You hit the spot each time. Well done.

Very nice Helen. Great for a bit of DIY !
-
100% Paint.Net.
-
And to think this started out about PDN4! Kind of strayed off topic old chap eh? Lol
-
You could also turn off the tools window and use the drop down menu instead.
wow Welshy we posted at the same time!
-
It is weird. Mine works fine. I use FF and regularly paste pictures into PDN without any problems.
(Sorry - misread your post. This is about PDN4 . oops! )
-
Or you could try this one -
http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=23498
As with the Trail plug in, you will need to create a new layer, use Shapes, new layer , then use it again .
Hope this helps.

Are you sure you are on the right forum? MyPaint is a different program to Paint.Net.
-
Nice tutorials with great results. I found the close up one interesting as for some reason I seem to struggle with those. I`ll be making use of these. Thanks very much Dryda.
( I think this tut deserves a pin)

Great work Helen, congratulations! Those berries look fantastic.
-
I agree. Shows off the rose to best effect I feel.
-
Terragen is also available free but with a few restrictions compared to the paid version obviously. So you could try before you buy. I have used the free one in some of my spacescapes with great results.
-
@Drydareelin - thanks. Sixties feel to the background eh? Never thought of it like that.
@Pixey - I always try for realism so thanks for that.

I have the same problem. I have tried installing this twice and even though it is listed in the PDN Effects file it does not show up in the program . The previous version was fine.
