  5. I've gotten through my oral presentation for English, my algebra final, my Spanish final, and my technology final. Now I just have one more day of school, an English final, a social studies final, and two regents (algebra and biology). Then I'm DONE.

  7. Aw, so sweet There seems to be a lack of sweet guys nowadays...
  8. You guys actually have to remember the vosotros form? Our Spanish teacher doesn't make us since it's barely used in the language anymore. Rant: Last Thursday, our school was put in a lock-in/lock-out at the end of first period, and no one knew why. By the middle of second period, there were accumulating rumors that a student had passed away. Then by the end of second period, we heard he had committed suicide. By the end of fifth period, a memo was read to us stating that an 11th grade student had jumped off the Lemon Squeeze bridge and that there were social workers available to help us if we needed it. The next day, we had a moment of silence and there was a chair near the main entrance that you could decorate as a memorial in his honor. I didn't know this student, but what irks me is that earlier this year, a student in special ed died of heart failure, but we weren't notified. I found out from a friend of mine who was in his grade. There wasn't a moment of silence, a memorial, nothing. He wasn't as well known as the suicide victim was, but doesn't he deserve the same amount of recognition?
  9. Bobofthedead has 999 posts. Scary. There's been a few confirmed cases of the flu in my county. There's a rumored one in the next town over, also. I live close enough to the city* to be worried a bit, but far enough where I don't think it will be a problem. *New York City
  10. Yes, I understood that. My original "ouch" was intended to be sympathetic. Being a girl, I know how dramatic we can get. The next post was to clarify for Gamer. I wasn't hurt; in fact, I agree with you. Girls are quite dramatic (above). Sorry for the confusion, everyone.
  11. I was referring to the text that I quoted: Pyrochild saying that girls and drama were synonymous. (I'm a female.)
  12. Yes! We didn't get last at championships! We got 8th out of 9th! 78.73! Finally, we're not as bad as we thought we were! It was our best show ever! In case anyone was wondering, it was our winter percussion championships.
  13. Rant: I really hate April Fool's Day. I am absolutely dreading tomorrow.
  14. Are you guys actually personifying your post counts?
  15. This is such a crazy month. I have a math project, science project, English book review to do, and we JUST finished a collaborative English and Social Studies project, which was three weeks of research, a brochure, "artifacts," a movie, and a fair at the end. We had All County last weekend, and although I'm not in the marching band, they marched on Sunday and Tuesday in the city for St. Patty's day. We have a winter percussion competition on Saturday where we get to the school at 7:45, learn more drill, leave for Connecticut at 10:30 with the winter guard, drive two and half hours, perform, watch the awards ceremony, wait for the guard to perform, stay for their awards ceremony, hit the road, stop to eat on the way home, and we're home by 2am. The next day, we have a jazz band gig at our mall. Also, I have three NYSSMA pieces to prepare, and I still haven't practiced with the person I'm playing the piano accompaniment for. On top of all of that, things are getting a little rocky with my boyfriend, and one of my best friends has now wished death upon me. Edit: fixed some grammar mistakes and typos.
  16. Total waste of a snow day for us. I guess it's because the students are used to having snow days when we get snow from high up in the mountains, but right now it's only flurrying. Our superintendent is from California, so she'll cancel at even the talk of snow. No offense to any Californians, but I'm sure that you're not that used to snow (unless you're upstate).
  17. Up here in the Catskills, we have 8 per year. Our district sometimes tells us we have a snow day the day before.
  18. *High fives.* Well, I am a girl. I know what we like and dislike.
  19. My dog had to be put down today. He was old though (14) and he couldn't see or hear, it was difficult for him to walk; he could barely stand up, and he would fall over when he did, and then couldn't sit back down without shaking. He was just in a lot of pain and he was suffering...I'm sure we did the right thing...but I'm gonna miss him. Rest in peace, Milo.
  20. Guys, first lesson: Don't use dating tips you found on the internet. You don't want to be one of those gross guys.
  21. This isn't really a rant, but tomorrow is our first winter percussion competition. We have based our show on a mid-evil theme, with people in knight (the drumline and most pit) and peasant costumes(the people that don't march). I don't march, so I'm one of four peasants. I bought a suitable costume and I had it ready. But now, one of the drummers is sick. They don't need her part to be played, but during the waltz section, there's two people that she dances with that are now partner-less. Guess who my director chose to fill in for her? That's right. I'm now wearing an old color guard dress that just happens to fit the themed colors because they don't have time to make another knight outfit. I have to learn this dance in one night and I keep getting my feet stepped on, I mess up when I switch partners, and it's more awkward because the first partner I've never really talked to and the second partner is my boyfriend, which is a good thing, but he's not a good dancer and he has to lead me around. None of us are ready...this is going to be a catastrophe.
