I haven't yet tried this plugin but I have a few questions. How detailed do recovered photos actually become? Wouldn't brightening a dark portion of an image make it grainier? I was originally looking at your old post about HDR and tone mapping: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5570&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=hdr Wouldn't this technique (using 3 different photos) be slightly better? By better I don't mean faster or easier but I think this method might be more detailed. If you have 3 equally detailed pictures at 3 different brightnesses, wouldn't using each picture's lightness merits end up with better detail?

I'm looking for a tutorial that I found here around mid-July this year. I looked through several pages of tutorials and couldn't find it. I'm hoping some of you are familiar with this technique.

So there's a picture (or a puzzle of gifs) on Ibanez's website of this musician I'm a huge fan of. I think it would make a great poster but the size of the picture doesn't lend itself to that. I've read a little bit about resolution from this site: http://www.layersmagazine.com/the-reali ... ality.html I'm particularly interested in the paragraph at the bottom about the "Dark Art of Upsampling" Is that sort of thing possible in paint.net? I'm not sure what bicubic smoother is but I didn't see it in paint.net.
