    In regards to your reply about the MDI, it would be good if it would be like, say, Firefox. There's a 'New Window' and 'New Tab' option in the file menu. I find this usefull because I can have all my pdn stuff in tabs in one window, and other stuff in another window.

    Here's some more stuff I found and by the way I didn't mean to be negative in the first post I think there are some great things in the first 3.0 reliese, but I'm only posting what are in my opinian negative.

    Anyway:

    1) In the old pdn there was a slider in the Colours window that made the selected colour darker. I found it in the More>> section, but I think it's much more accesable where it was. (Btw I LOVE the palet!)

    2) Could there not be a zoom tool and pan tool? E.g when the pan tool is selected it pans, but when you hold, maby, Shift + Click it zooms.

    3) In the Windows menu at the top of pdn, the 'Reset Windows Locations' button dosn't seem to work.

    4) When I try to scan an image, I get 'There is no acquirable image in the clipboard' poping up.

    5) The effects CMD said didn't work arn't working on my PC either.

    6) When I rotate an image, when the rotation is rendering, the loading window that pops up says 'PdnBaseForm'. Unless I'm mistaken, that hasn't got anything to do with rotation.

    7) When zoomed in completly with the grid on, the paint tool takes a long time to catch up with the mouse.

    8) If you have lots of tabs open in pdn, when you close it down, it asks if you want to save every tab indivitual. Couldn't there be a close tab button and a close pdn button, with maby a warning that any unsaved tabs will be lost?

    9) When I try to shange the font of text, the whole thing goes white and crashes.

    That's about all for now. Just want to say great work Rick keep it up!

  2. OK i've only been on PDN for about 5 mins but this is what I've found:

    1) The MDI window was abit confusing. It would be better if there was 'New File' & 'New Window' buttons in the File menu.

    2) Right above the tools window there is a list of tools. I don't see how that is nececery.

    3) I realy don't like the new zoom tool because you can't select where you want to zoom. You have to zoom in, then move to where you want to go.

    4) I had a crash :D . Here's a screenshot of what came up:

    pdncrash.png

    I had just done a Rectangular to Polar Inversion, then I hit Ctrl + Z and that came up.

    That's all for now I'll be updating soon but I have to spleep Lol :lol:

    EDIT: More further down page.

    EDIT 2: Sorry if I seem negative!

  3. @ RaveN

    Lol I know what you mean! I have two image hosts, 1 for more important images that I keep organised in folders, and one for random images that I link to posts like this! :lol: Lol!

    @ barkbark00

    Yea it's cool, but a bit random lol! If you blur the images you get a realy cool result!

  4. Hi!

    I was playing arround in PDN yesterday. I set my brush to 100 and did some...well...some scribling! I clicked on the Rounded Rectangle shape and...

    WOW!

    I came out with this:

    1Shape.png

    I then clicked some of the other shapes buttons like Rectangle and Freeform, and ended up with this:

    Shapes.png

    So what do you think? Try it out! :lol:

  5. EDIT: Originally called " 'Newbie' Grrrrr... "

    Hi all!

    Some may disagree with me on this but I HATE the word newbie!

    Could it possibly be banned from the forum, or replaced with 'beginner', or 'starter' or 'I'm new to Paint.NET'. The word newbie is really annoying and it degrades the forum to the lowest of low. I apologise to any guests who have had to put up with...NEWBIE...flashing up all over their screens.

    If you think I have spoken out of turn, or agree with me, please PM me.

  6. Hmmmmm. Well there's one think I can say...

    The Paint.NET forum ROCKS!

    And that's one thing that Photoshop will never have because Adobe are always busy and can't talk, where as Rick here is allways up for a discussion!

    I think it will be a long time before I'll be leaving the PDN forum!!!

  7. Or you could download codelab and use this code:

    unsafe void Render(Surface dst, Surface src, Rectangle rect)
    {
       int ycut = dst.Height * 50 / 100;
       float scale = dst.Height / 10.0f;

       for(int y = rect.Top; y < rect.Bottom; y++)
       {
           ColorBgra* dstPtr = dst.GetPointAddressUnchecked(rect.Left, y);
           ColorBgra* srcPtr = null;

           if (y > ycut)
           {
               float s = scale * (y - ycut) / ycut;
               int yreflect = (int)(2 * ycut - y + s * Math.Sin(y / s));
               if (yreflect < 0) yreflect = 0;
               srcPtr = src.GetPointAddressUnchecked(rect.Left, yreflect);
           }
           else
           {
               srcPtr = src.GetPointAddressUnchecked(rect.Left, y);
           }

           for (int x = rect.Left; x < rect.Right; x++)
           {
               if (y < ycut)
               {
                   *dstPtr = *srcPtr;
               }
               else if (y < ycut * 2)
               {
                   int frac = (2 * ycut - y) * 256 / ycut;

                   *dstPtr = *srcPtr;
                   dstPtr->A = (byte)((dstPtr->A * frac) / 256);
               }
               else
               {
                   dstPtr->Bgra = 0;
               }

               ++dstPtr;
               ++srcPtr;
           }
       }
    }

    It's by Tom Jackson, here's the link to the page:

  8. Hi!

    I was making a poster with lots of text on. I read it through to check it and half way through, I saw a typo. It was something stupid like 'to' spelt 'tp'. Because I'd hit enter before and the text was saved, I couldn't correst it. I had to make a new layer with the 'o' on it and drag it into place. Lol :lol:

    Could there not be a feature where you can douple click the text, or even a seperate 'text only' layer?

    Hope you get all that!
