    Encountering crashing with Content Aware Fill. Can use the default untitled blank image when opening PDN or any existing image, select a large area and it crashes when hitting Ok.

    Scroll to change brush size

    Currently you have to select inside the dropdown to change the brush size via mouse scroll wheel. Outside of the dropdown it seems that [ and ] and Ctrl + [ or ] can change the brush size too. Keyboard & Mouse Commands (getpaint.net)

     

    With the default left hand position in the WASD area it could be more convenient if say the unused combos Ctrl + Shift + Scroll wheel or Alt + Scroll wheel could change the brush size as well.

    Revisiting the Author select box suggestion, I may have found a middle ground solution. It is possible to style the options in the dropdown. We could style the author names who have no results with the current search settings. However, this will not work for every device. It will at least work with major browsers on desktop: Firefox, Chrome. It does not appear to work with Edge. Mobile devices often replace the dropdown with it's own native solution so it won't work there either. Not certain how intuitive this idea is either, thoughts?

    I believe the request is to filter the author select box based on who all can possibly appear in the list based on your other criteria (keywords, type, status, etc.). So like if you selected All types and Any status you would see the current list but with default options the names he listed would no longer show.

     

    This would be an easy thing to do but I'm not sure it is the behavior we want or that it is intuitive; unless many think otherwise.

    The link that @toe_head2001 provided gives the correct instructions but it doesn't sound like you correctly solved the problem. Trying to install to the Program Files or WindowsApps locations when using the Windows Store version will not work and you won't see any plugins you attempt to install. You need to create folders in your My Documents as the link states and place your plugins there to correctly use plugins with the Windows Store version.

    I wonder then if Bundled could be a new status type for the index but if there are only two that apply it might not seem worth it and just keep them labeled active. Though that depends on if more could be bundled in the future. I do agree now that it is a gray area and doesn't really apply as integrated.

    Performance Update

     

    I've improved the speed and performance, upgraded jquery and bootstrap libraries, and made some minor UI fixes again with recent changes. When loading and using the app, there should be a noticeable difference.

     

    What makes it faster? Instead of toggling the visibility of individual elements on the page, it is now building the html in a JS variable and replacing the entire list html. This way the browser does less work overall. Comparing Chrome performance results, scripting and rendering time has been halved. Comparing Firefox performance results, Layout & DOM time/cost has been halved.

    Plugin Errors Visual Cues

    In regards to the "Plugin Errors" always being displayed in the Settings window now even when there are no errors, possibly you could give visual cues when there is something to look at and when there isn't? When I see a warning triangle there I instinctively want to check it out every time I open Settings even when there is nothing wrong.

     

    Potentially you could show the plugin icon without the warning triangle when things are fine or with a green check mark, display the warning triangle when there is interesting output to look at?

    I am able to reproduce this by resizing the window from the bottom and dragging it all the way to the top. It then becomes uninteractable and even difficult to close.

     

    There may be ways it can be prevented, however there is some Windows magic you can do to fix it!

     

    It seems you are on Windows 10 which is good. Shift + Right click on Paint.NET in the taskbar and select Size.

    Then click, hold, and drag down.

    I don't think the video codecs would be relevant for an image editor. The image extensions you have listed would be the ones to use: HEIF, RAW, WebP.

     

    As for plugins already existing, there are already user-made plugins for RAW and WebP that you can use for both classic and Windows Store versions:

    Though, I have no idea how easy or possible it would be use those Windows Store items and could still be an option. However, how many image extensions are available in the store? If there are enough it may make sense to try and support them.

    Forum login is atrocious: claims to accept e-mail, but it doesn't. Locks me out only after three attempts.

    Why would someone lax security just because it's not critical? Three tries I think is a fairly standard practice for sites regardless of the content/purpose.

     

    The problem appears to be that you don't remember your login details, not an issue with the forum login system. The login system here isn't much different from others on other social platforms, except lacking something like 2FA of course. 

     

    To solve the actual issue here, I think you should take advantage of the username and password saving feature in Chrome (if that's what you're using) or store your login details in a place that you're most comfortable with. Some examples to look at are 1password, lastpass, or if you don't trust online mediums, a local-offline tool keepass. Or just write them down on paper/notecards.

     

    However, when trying to log in with just my email it does not appear to work as you've said. Only the username appears to work. It's probably something to be brought up to the forum software InvisionCommunity which this is based off of.
