Learned tonight about an open-source SIMD library: can that help here?

I've been using Paint.NET on-off for several years now: I recall asking here or somewhere once about how to use optipng with the PNG output. But tonight I learned about an SIMD library (YEPP) that Georgia Tech worked on. Not sure how much it'd compete with/compliment the "multicore JIT" mentioned on the blog, but it would definitely appear useful for imaging software.

Hey!  I'm going to go ahead and move this thread over to the Plugin Dev forum.  That sounds more like what you're going for.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
