How to create simple web buttons

I would like to create some simple oval shaped web buttons with customized captions. How do I create these? I know I need to begin with the oval rectangle, but I like the button to appear little raised.

Any help appreicated.

Give me the colors and I can do it for you...

Here is a simple way

First make the layer transparent.

Make a black oval, and gaussian blur that a little bit, mess around with that.

Then, on a NEW layer, make the color you want a tiny bit smaller than that with the color you want it mainly.

Create a new layer, make an oval slightly smaller than the last, and blurr it that, make the color of the oval slightly lighter than the last...

Rinse and repeat till you are satisfied.

Adjust the Opacity a little bit on the first black layer at the end, if you get too much black for your lighting.

Then pick a font, and color for it and make that on a new layer.

If you want me to make it I can.

If this is a link button and you want to make it standard 80x31, I suggest with something in proportion, like 160x62 or 240x93

That is for blood though. If you want to make it look more 3d, at the end put a little white patch and blur that 10 pixels.
