seishino
I tried installing paint.net to a removeable drive to see if it would play on a separate computer. I ran over to another computer to try it out. It didn'twork, so I deleted the file and gave up on installing to USB. Now when I try to install it on my computer proper, I'm stuck with an error "A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file:..." Attempting to uninstall the previous installation just results in a similar error. Any ideas on how I can get this running from a local disk? seishino
I went through and deleted all references to paint.net from the registry, which allowed me to re-install successfully. Hopefully I didn't just break everything!
Rick Brewster
If it's any consolation, I've added code to the installer for the next update so that it will not allow you to install to a removable drive, or to a UNC path (network share). That will help prevent stuff like this.
