(auto) fill checkered area with (white) background after cutting a selected area?

Recommended Posts

Assume I selected a rectangle in  a loaded image.

Then I press Ctrl+X and the selected area is cut. Good.

Instead now a checkered area is shown.

How can I (automatically) convert this area to a (pre-defined/white) background color?

Just deselecting it does not help

And please take some time to read the Documentation.

Based on your question above and your other recent question, there are a few key concepts that you are not yet understanding. The Documentation will help and there are lots of guides on YouTube that demonstrate selections, layers, etc.
