  1. ShinichiOkazaki, are you a cat lover and love nekomimi anime characters, cuz i am lol.

I could make a wallpaper yeah (in fact im using Kinetic Flow as a wallpaper, though its only the top 60%, I think it looks good)

    Like this:

and thankyou I enjoy doing anime subject pieces.

Any and all opinions are welcome! :)

  2. Well then allow me to be more precise as to what your instructions is lacking.....

1: At step 4, Open what? What are we all supposed to assume we are opening? Of course I just figured we were supposed to open what we just saved, right? meaning the previous file at this point is deleted, right? So we are actually opening a file we just saved and deleted the file we started with, Right?

2: Brushes?! I should have been more to the point rather than assuming, My bad! Now for the question....What are the brushes for ( Not its location or its function ) if we already have a smoke pic in transparent form, what does the brush imprint provide other than adding to the smoke pic to begin with or is the process needed in order for the outcome to be successful.

3: I have followed your instructions, The outcome of my pic is the black background is actually the background of the flame rather than being black and the smoke being flame.

I'm only asking because I love your Idea and very interested in your creativity in regards to flame making!!.........Perhaps I'm asking way to much from you. So if anyone else could provide the answers I would very much appreciate it.

When I say open I mean Open New blank project.

As for brushes, it allows you to save the smoke image as a stamp/brush so you don't  (a ) have to redo the whole process of cleaning the image up from ground zreo again or  (b ) search for the image to add into the work, i just find it easier and more friendly.

As for the background issue, did you merge the brush (which is with a transparent checkered background) with a black underlying layer before applying the flame effect? If not thats the issue, the black background is needed to be merged so the flame effect only touches the white smoke.

Sorry again for my hasty judgement. :)

  3. Be nice NMD. You don't actually link to the plugins or the guide to plugin installation. For a newb landing on this page it would be bewildering.

Very true EER I overlooked that.

Also I don't mean to sound rude, so for the part I paly, my sincere apologies.

    Edit: Wow 2nd page xD

  4. I can't make it anymore straight forward. It's already written step by step. Anyone that has saved documents before should remember that Open New is the first option under the File tab, and opens a new whatever that program is used for. Thus it would open and new canvas in Paint.net. The tutorial is self explainatory. Forgive my frankness but this tut won't be able to be of use to anyone who doesn't first know how to navigate a computer.

    Edit:

And also, the tutorial plainly lists the plugins needed for it, so if you have to wonder what I mean by brushes and custom brushes, you need to familiarize yourself with paint.net, the forum, and simpler tuts that need less plugins.

  5. My very first "real" piece on PDN. Adapted from Glowy Swirl Tutorial.

Lol I saw this and I was like "Now why have I never thought of that as a studio productions name etc. (I make many logos for studios and such)

Also it makes me curious. Do you have ADHD/ADD too??

I'm starting to wonder if you are my double or a me from another life! Creepy xD

  6. Both are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. However due in part probably to my somewhat creative/ADD caused love of depth and lighting etc in spacescapes, I have to go with Mr. Bobert's sig.

    Bobert- 3 Winner

    NN- 2

  7. I'm glad you like it. Alone is my fav as well, and I'm glad the raw emotion is evident, as that is the "embodiment" of my emotions at the time.

And yes the time away was refreshing, and has helped me have more thought and feeling to put into works. :)

(Sometimes I even create works based on others feelings, as I'm cursed with intuition due to ADD and can feel others emotions as if they were my own.)

  8. Having recently learned more and more about my specific ADD situation and how it affects me, I realize that I put my feelings and emotions into every creation of mine. It is a strong source of inflow and as a result effects everything I create during outflow.

Anyways I have been doing a lot of thinking again over issues and struggles I have gone through in my life and seen how they all relate. I continue to struggle and push my way through, but have faced much discouragement over certain situations.

These feelings have resulted and culminated into this work.

The anime boy and the chalk guitarist sketches are the only outside sources.

Please let me know what you think.

  9. Hey everyone, sorry I was gone for quite some time. I moved from Virginia back to Colorado in November, so I was busy for a while, then I had a lack of some ideas in general, then after Christmas I was messing around practicing with my new Wacom Intuos 5 tablet. So here I am to update you on a few new things I put together, I'm pretty close to turning 18 so I have been busy with a lot of other things haha.

An image I found online and decided to mess with, the text on the guitar was hand done with my new Intuos 5 tablet

I brightened her eyes up, put a silver engraved name on the guitar and added the text, I know its not much to have changed but I couldn't think of how to give this one a background due to the bench outline she is sitting on.

  10. I realize it's likely no issue with Paint.net, but it still makes no sense that it works fine to open all that night and then can't open the very next day (like 12 hours later). Any suggestions you can give are appreciated (obviously this is not an uncommon issue, but that doesn't tell me anything about fixing it)

Edit: Frankly, I don't even know how to go about figuring out why it's doing/what is causing the issue, much less fix it

  11. Hello I have had a similar issue with .pdn files twice now. I work on an image, save it, open it again to check, and it works fine, then i close the program and shut down my pc for the night. Next morning I get up, turn on the Laptop wait for it to finish running in the background, then I tell it to open the same .pdn file I was working on the previous night. Bam I get the message: "There was an error reading the file from the media!" Again, this is the second time (not in a row) this has happened, both the same over night scenario, both on my brand new laptop (which has all the programs and files my old laptop did) on Windows 7, both using Paint.net v3.5.10 (no crash file is created, as the program does not close, only cant open the specific file).

Please help, I don't understand why it's behaving like this, and I would hate to lose some of my best work.
