I had this problem too. Repair fixed it even though I didn't reboot. :P W7 4ever like I did with XP Pro. SP3. I might go Linux fully after W7 gets too old and useless on my decade old PC. :)

Is there a way to do this with a brush like old Paint Shop Pro v8? I also used its smudge.
