I'm beginning to learn paint.net, but is it useful to start learning about other programs like Photoshop at this stage? Anything recommended?

Sorry I'm a bit thick today 1) My first layer has the black background 2) My second has the orange Fire text so far that works fine for me The next step has the text changed to a gradient colour However, when I create the gradient it takes up the whole page How do I apply that gradient to the text? Do I apply it on the second layer, or create another layer, I just need to know how to apply it

Newbie question alert: For part 2: Then with orange as primary and brown as secondary do a linear gradient like this: Where on the canvas do I do this?

If anyone can answer this part of the tutorial. would be great also New layer, select the cloud using the Magic Wand and on your new layer draw a light grey line along the bottom of the cloud Now, I tried to just use a pencil and then fill it in, but that didn't work, so I'm sure there must be an easy way

"Use dents to get a jelly look"
rowen77 replied to rowen77's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Thank you, Answered my question well -
On the "Almost Realistic Fluffy Clouds" tutorial, it states: Now use Dents to get a `jelly' look . Play around with the settings until you are happy. I used Scale - 85, Refraction 13. The rest I left at default settings. You can do it more than once if you wish using Ctrl-F By creating 'dents' are they just using the eraser bar or what method are they using? thanks

If I select a colour from the Paint.net palette for a Logo, it looks great in my browser and computer, but for other users of a website, would most users be seeing the Logo with the same colours I am? thanks
