    Like Spinkfish, I don't get a clear selection when using the magic wand. It tends to select randomly around areas that have created shadows. Can any one kindly advise why this might be please. Slam.

    Hi, I have just started to use layers. I am following a tutorial, part of which indicates that when a layer is selected a layers window should appear. Is this correct, because no layers window appears when I select a layer from the menu. I have an image opened. Thanks. Slam
