Mostly because Paint.NET is actively developed, and many questions become out-of-date rapidly.
Of course, the subject matter isn't out-of-date in all older posts.
Having the clear anti-necroposting rule saves forum members and mods
from having to agonize over whether each individual topic is still relevant.
If there is an old post that just perfectly describes a subject we want to discuss,
we can make a new topic and include a link to the previous post.

Quadrilateral Reshape plugin might work well for that.

Open the example image in Paint.NET.
Use the Color Picker tool on the red of the triangle.
Add a new layer.
Use the Line / Curve tool with a large brush size, and with the Shift key down.
Make a line at a 45 degree angle.

===================================
Use the Move Selected Pixels tool to position the line as a corner triangle.

===================================
Delete the bottom layer, and save the file as a re-usable template PNG file.

Open each new picture, and import the template.

Make a New Layer.
Set the Primary color to white.
Add the price text with the Rotate Text plugin.
Position it in the corner using the Move Selected Pixels tool.

Uninstall WinZip trial version if it is listed in Add/Remove Programs.
Then try again.

the default location - C:\Users\Bob\Documents\dpyplugins5.1[1].
Not the correct location.
Effects plugin files go in the Effects folder.
Typically:
"C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects"

When you cut the image to the Windows clipboard the meta-data is lost. (The 300DPI setting)
Before cutting and pasting, resize the image.
Image > Resize
Set the Resolution to 96.00 pixels/inch
Set the Print Size to whatever size you want to appear in the MS Word document.
-----------------------------
This is based on what works with MS WordPad.
MS Word is likely the same.
==============================================
For reducing file size generally, you can save as JPEG,
and lower the Quality setting in the Save Configuration dialog.

Will this work:
Layers > Flip Horizontal
-
If all you need is simple rotation, rotate using the
Move Selected Pixels tool with right mouse button.
There is a toolbar option to choose between Smooth
and Pixelated when using the Move Selected Pixels tool.

Where's the logo example?

Plugin downloads are usually in the first post of the thread.
Download from one of the these labeled links:
ToliEffects_v202.zip
ToliEffectsSetup_v202.zip

It seems to be source code for a previous version
of Paint.NET that was released under MIT license.
As jerry533482 has posted, PDN is closed source now.
As stated in the forum Rules, support is not provided for previous versions of Paint.NET.
We can't help you with this.

Fabian,
The third tutorial on this link shows how to do it all from eCover.
-
-
It looks like the bottom close-up example was made with the
Rounded Rectangle tool rather than the Ellipse tool.
-
i have three in view along the top next to the tool bar
how do you open them into separate layers
Those are the thumbnailed tabs.
Click on the second in line, and copy the image layer:
Ctrl + A
Ctrl + C
Now, click on the first thumbnailed tab in line, and paste into a new layer:
Ctrl + Shift + V
==========================================
Repeat that for all remaining tabs, always returning to the
first thumbnailed tab in line before pasting into a new layer.
==========================================
==========================================
Another way is to start over with a new file and import each image file successively as a layer.
In the menu:
Layers > Import From File...
.

Check this link:

You can make a circle using the Ellipse tool with Shift key down.
Then make a Rectangular Selection around half of the circle.
Move the selected half horizontally with the Move Selected Pixels tool.
On a new layer connect the two halves with the Line / Curve tool.

The attached image is a .jpg file type.
JPEG won't retain transparency.
-
There's a setting in the toolbar.
-
Photobucket will work just as well.
-
Yes.
It says Preview, file size: Error, but the file works.
What happens with Unfreez?
-
It might be helpful if you could post a full-size screenshot including that error message.
Upload to ImageShack and post the Direct Link URL here.

Also, pls. say what OS version you are using. (XP, Vista, etc.)

You can first expand the canvas size.
Then, select the image and expand the selected pixels with the Move Selected Pixels tool.
There is a toolbar option to choose between Smooth
and Pixelated when using the Move Selected Pixels tool.

The .dll files shouldn't be opened.
If the download process allows a choice between Open and Save, choose Save.
