  1. Mostly because Paint.NET is actively developed, and many questions become out-of-date rapidly.

    Of course, the subject matter isn't out-of-date in all older posts.

    Having the clear anti-necroposting rule saves forum members and mods

    from having to agonize over whether each individual topic is still relevant.

    If there is an old post that just perfectly describes a subject we want to discuss,

    we can make a new topic and include a link to the previous post.

  2. Open the example image in Paint.NET.

    Use the Color Picker tool on the red of the triangle.

    Add a new layer.

    Use the Line / Curve tool with a large brush size, and with the Shift key down.

    Make a line at a 45 degree angle.

    ===================================

    Use the Move Selected Pixels tool to position the line as a corner triangle.

    ===================================

    Delete the bottom layer, and save the file as a re-usable template PNG file.

    Open each new picture, and import the template.

    Layers > Import From File...

    ------------------------------

    Make a New Layer.

    Set the Primary color to white.

    Add the price text with the Rotate Text plugin.

    Position it in the corner using the Move Selected Pixels tool.

  3. When you cut the image to the Windows clipboard the meta-data is lost. (The 300DPI setting)

    Before cutting and pasting, resize the image.

    Image > Resize

    Set the Resolution to 96.00 pixels/inch

    Set the Print Size to whatever size you want to appear in the MS Word document.

    -----------------------------

    This is based on what works with MS WordPad.

    MS Word is likely the same.

    For reducing file size generally, you can save as JPEG,

    and lower the Quality setting in the Save Configuration dialog.

  4. i have three in view along the top next to the tool bar

    how do you open them into separate layers

    Those are the thumbnailed tabs.

    Click on the second in line, and copy the image layer:

    Ctrl + A

    Ctrl + C

    Now, click on the first thumbnailed tab in line, and paste into a new layer:

    Ctrl + Shift + V

    ==========================================

    Repeat that for all remaining tabs, always returning to the

    first thumbnailed tab in line before pasting into a new layer.

    Another way is to start over with a new file and import each image file successively as a layer.

    In the menu:

    Layers > Import From File...

    .

  5. You can first expand the canvas size.

    Then, select the image and expand the selected pixels with the Move Selected Pixels tool.

    There is a toolbar option to choose between Smooth

    and Pixelated when using the Move Selected Pixels tool.
