Hello,
I still use IrfanView because of two features:
- A thumbnail add-on
- It can batch-process a bunch of pictures, eg. resize, rotate, etc.
Does Paint have solutions for this, so I can stop juggling with two apps?
Thank you.

Thanks much. That's also the solution I thought about in the mean time, using LibreOffice instead since I don't have Excel.

Hello,
"The required 'OptionBasedLibrary v0.7.9' files can be found in the Parallel Lines and Patterns plugin."

Dead link.
Where can the "'Parallel Lines and Patterns' Render Effect Plugin" be found?
Thank you.

Thanks. I don't have the skills to work on a plugin.
I'll see if I can find a way to the x/y axis with labels.

Hello,
I use Paint.net to scan books.
Is there a shortcut to get to the "Scan using…" dialog?
- File
- Acquire
- From Scanner
- OK
- B&W
- Scan
Thank you.

I had the same problem, and had to google for this.
The color palette was gone, and no trace of it in the View menu.
F8 does display it, although IMHO, it'd make sense for all the tools windows (Colors, Layers, etc.) to be listed in View, ready to be shown/hidden.

Thank you.

Hello,
I'd like to use Paint.net to draw this type of graph:
Is there an easier way than using the Line/Curve tool to try and draw a curve that would look like the above?
Thank you.
-
Thanks. I installed both plug-ins since they are mentioned in the tutorial.
Maybe I didn't run the installer correctly before: Now, I can see a bunch of Vandermotten.*.dll in "c:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects.
For newbies like me wanting to do the same thing, you only need the Drop Shadow plug-in, and use the Lasso tool: For each picture you want to edit…
- Use the Lasso Select tool to select a wavy ripped edge on the picture.
- Delete the selection with DEL
- Perform the above steps for all the pictures
- Create a new picture, and copy/paste the pictures you just edited.
Thank you all.

I don't have it.
Do I need to perform extra steps after 0) stopping Paint.net, 1) unzipping the DLLs from the AA's Assistant zip files into Paint.NET's Effects sub-directory, 2) running the Drop Shadow installer, and 3) restarting P.net?
Here are the files I have:

Thanks for the help.
The video is for an older version, and the menus are a bit different. So I went throught the "Corrugated Cardboard" tutorial, but am stuck at Step 14: Even though I installed the two plug-ins (by copying the DLLs in "c:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects\" and running the installer, respectively), there's no plug-in named "Drop Shadow" anywhere in the Effects menu:
Quote14) Use the 'Drop Shadow' (ds.png) plugin with Widening Radius at 0, Blur Radius at 2, Shadow Color at Black... other parameters stay at default values
Has it been renamed recently?
Thank you.

I'll piggy-back on this thread, since I'm stuck at drawing a shape.
I added four screenshots, and would like to draw a shape on top of the screenshots.
Problem is, for some reason, it's drawn on the Background layer. Even adding a new layer and drawing a shape doesn't solve it.
I tried CTRL+D, nothing.
Then went looking in the different menus for a clue, to no avail.
What should I do after pasting multiple screenshots in a picture, before being able to add a shape?
Thank you.

Hello
I googled before asking, but still can't figure out how to resize a selection like I could in PaintShop.
I attached an example.
After choosing the "Rectangle Select" tool, I select part of a picture. Next, I'd like to be able to change its size, before hitting Image > Crop to selection.
How can I do this?
Thank you.

Effects > Render only contains basic shapes, not arrows.
I'd rather some ready-to-use solution instead of having to learn how to write brushes. I'll see if there's a free alternative to PSP.
Thank you.
-
Thanks. I'll check if those packages have arrow-styles shapes available.

Hello
One thing I'm missing from PaintShop Pro are the preset shapes like arrows and such:
Is there a way to get those in Paint.net?
Thank you.

yellowman said:Draw up the arrow, then use Polar Transformation plugin with Rectangle to Polar effect to shape it.
Thanks for the tip. For those interested, here's the plug-in:

Thanks, but I meant icons like those:
http://www.graphicxtras.com/products/pspshap_more1.htm
ie. not straight lines. Do I need some plug-in?
Thanks.

Hello,
PaintShopPro 7 or 8 offered tools such as curved arrows that sort of looked like this:
http://www.pspug.org/tutorial/html/tutb ... row-02.gif
I can't find the equivalent in Paint.net (3.36). Is this available, through plug-ins maybe?
Thank you.
How to draw angles with Paint?
in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions

Thank you.
I still can't draw the right angle. Here's what happens after I 1) draw a right angle triangle, and 2) select it with the "Rectangle Select" in the toolbox (attached).
How do I delete the diagonal bar?
