Dosn't work. This is always a problem for me

on step 5-7 i am getting into trouble. When i merge the layers down my second layer always covers the 1st layer and the opacity is down to 0

Thanks. So i need to make the Black to white, Black to transparent white. so how do i do that? :oops:

Hello well i just discovered while trying to merge my layer down it dosn't...hmm how to say merge. I merge then.... Layer 2 goes over layer 1 and you cant see layer 1. So can you please help. ~starlight
