  1. This one mainly applies to the "Undo/Redo All" arrows on the History box but I'm sure it could be implemented on other global change functions as well - add an "Are you sure? Yes/No" box to give you a second chance to verify that's what you want to do. More times than I want to admit, I've mistakenly hit the "All" arrow instead of the "One" arrow and lost a ton of work, mostly because PdN subsequently crashed when I hit "Redo" to get it back.
  2. I do something similar with product labels for my home business. All the "common" information is on one layer. A second layer has horizontal reference lines at the positions where the "variable" text needs to go. Subsequent layers contain the text for the various product information. When I need to create a new product, I just add a new layer and type in the info, then select and move it to where the reference lines are. When everything is in place, turn off the reference line layer.
  3. Ok, so what I want is something that needs to be written into PdN's code from the ground up? Hopefully it's on the list of things to add in a future update. Thanks anyway.
  4. Looking for a plug-in but searches of the forum didn't help me much. Has anyone created a plug-in that allows you to link layers together so that you can cut/copy/paste/move elements from all layers at once but keep them on their own layers? I have a master file for my business logo that has a background, text and outline elements each on separate layers. Occasionally, I'll need to move the pieces around to make different business artwork layouts for displays, banners, etc. I also experiment with copies of each layer - blur effects, color adjustments, and the like - as I refine the design and get better at using PdN. Linking the layers of the parts and moving them all at once would make it a lot easier and faster than having to do the same procedure three times and then fiddle with the alignment on each one.
  5. Did a search on this and didn't find anything specific to it... On the History box, can you do something on the next update to separate or "accident proof" the different forward and back buttons? With the four of them sitting the way they are, I occasionally find myself hitting the "back up all" history button instead of the "back up one" button :Undo: . Could they be moved further apart so it's harder to hit the wrong one by accident? Alternately, how about a confirmation dialog box that pops up when you hit one of the "all" buttons to confirm that you really want to do it?
  6. When I have to do things like that, I like to create a "holding area" layer that I can copy and paste stuff to and keep it there as a "master" of sorts, then re-copy & paste what I need back to the other layers as needed.

  10. Your canvas should be the height of the man and the width of the signature. Paste in the man on one layer, put the rest of the sig on another layer, or as many layers as it needs. Now, on each layer, select and delete the parts where you want it to be clear for the natural background to show through.
  11. I use a program called ThumbsPlus (http://www.cerious.com] for organizing all my graphics files. In it, you can set up new types of files for it to recognize. I want to set up a File Type for PdN. If I select "Equivalent to type..." it will associate PdN as a variant of that type of file (EPS, PSP, etc.), but if I try to set it up manually, I can only choose basic settings like Category (image, movie, etc.) and Class (Vector, Raster, Sound, Movie, etc.) I realize this is more of a ThumbsPlus question than a PdN question, but their support forums are newsgroups, not a message board like this, and I have no idea how to access them. Besides, I figured any technical questions related to PdN would end up having to come here anyway. Anyone out there use ThumbsPlus and can tell me what settings to use?
  12. That's the perfect spot for it, then.
  13. Where is that? New in 3.35 beta? I'm on 3.31.
  14. What about adding something to the Canvas Size dialogue box - Default for new canvas: Selection size Standard size (with a pulldown menu of typical screen dimension combinations) User size (with boxes for height/width/resolution) That way the user can tell PdN how it should act instead of the other way around.
  15. When you drive to work tomorrow, try to do it by only making right turns, no lefts. See how long it takes you and how easy it is.
  16. Ok, forget the numbers, just look at the logic. I'm working on project A, at whatever size it is. I copy part of it and now need to paste that into new project B, which is the same size as project A. But when I hit "New", the newly created project B is the size of my selection, not the size of project A. So now I have to stop and re-size project B to the same as project A, then move the object I copied/pasted that started all this to its correct position. Now, I've worked on them some more and I need to take some section of project B and copy it into new project C, the same way I took part of A and copied it to B. Every time I create a new project, I have to stop and re-size it because of the selection I'm copying. The selection is part of the project, not the other way around. THAT'S why it's counter-intuitive and inefficient. Look at the same problem out in the real world - if I'm building a puzzle and the box says it will come out to be, say, 15" x 20" when finished, why would I start building it on a table that's only 10" x 10"?
  17. Because regardless of the size, any sort of "bring in the text from the outside" method results in un-anti-aliased, blocky, hard to read text. When it's created within PdN, it's anti-aliased, which makes the text look the way it's supposed to - :AntiAliasingOn: not :AntiAliasingOff:
