  1. That's kinda what I figured. I thought I'd ask though. Do you know where there's a tutorial on it?
  2. Cool, you know where I can find it?
  3. I'm just wondering, does paint.net have the capability to add an infrared effect to a picture? If so, does anyone know how to do it? :?:
  4. I save my images on paint.net after I've edited them. Then when I open my image viewer (when I don't have paint.net open) I see the thumbnails and it's not showing the pictures as I've edited them. What I mean is this: I use Ulead photo explorer to open and view my images. I've put several images in black and white, or sepia, and when I see the thumbnails of the edited images it doesn't show them as black and white or sepia, it's only when I open the images that I can see them as black and white or sepia (or any change). Why is that? Can anyone help me to change that (if it's possible)?
  5. OK, I FINALLY managed to download the feather feature. The reason I was having so much trouble is because I was using Mozilla instead of Internet Explorer. But now I'm having another problem... I looked at the instruction page here: http://boltbait.googlepages.com/feather I followed all the directions, but nothing happened to my cut image. See the image below? And before you ask, these are NOT the images I intend to use this effect for, this is just an EXAMPLE. I took two random images and threw them together. So, you see the cat? That's an image I copied and pasted into the other image. How do I make the edges (the outside) of that image of the cat look blurred with the Feather? Maybe I just misunderstood the directions, but does anyone think there's a step I may have missed? I tried it several times. Does anyone have more specific directions maybe? For someone who's not so good at computers?
  6. OK, did I just miss something? I'm DESPERATE to add this "feather" to my PDN. Does it just add the feature to the program? And every time I open PDN the feather feature should be there? Can anyone give me a step by step way to add this feature? I'm not too good with computers so sorry about that. I keep trying to add it and open it with PDN but then it takes me to PDN and it says something like "image type cannot be recognized". And yes, I know it's not an image. Anyway, can someone PLEASE help me? It seems a lot easier to use the feather feature than to the lasso tool w/ the gossian blur.
  7. This is not the actual picture I'm wanting to do this effect for, it's just an example. I just took two random pictures from my library to show you what I wanted to do.
  8. How do I do that? I couldn't find anything that said "feather".
  9. OK, i started a topic like this earlier, and somehow my subject line said something about a vignette. I don't know how that happened, but it's not what I wanted to ask about. Anyway, I'll describe what I want to do, and sorry I'm not sure what every effect is called yet. Anyway, see this picture? This is just an example. You see the cross in the picture? That's from another picture. I used the ellipse tool, and copied and pasted the cross into this picture. (Is that the proper way to do it, or does anyone recommend a better way?) What I mainly wanted to know is this: is there a way I can make the edge of the picture of the cross look faded. Not the entire picture of the cross, just the outside of it. It's to give it kind of a sentimental look. I hope I worded my questions right. Any help will be much appreciated.
  10. Somehow I typed the wrong subject line, becuase I didn't mean to type "how can I make a vignette". It must have been from a previous post i made. Anyway, see the cross that I put in the below picture? The cross is from another picture. I used the ellipse tool and copied and pasted it in. My question is, how can I make the edge of that cross look faded? ... anyone know what I mean? Sorry if it's not too specific but I don't really know what the effect is called.
  11. I don't know what everything is called yet because it's been a while since I've used photo editing software. But I selected part of one picture with the ellipse select tool, then copied and pasted it into another picture. How do I make a blue around it? Just to make it look nicer? Hope I worded that question well. Let me know if you can. Thanks! PS, should I always use the ellipse tool?
