  1. is the .dll in the effects folder? run the plugin once and then go to the user files folder and if it appears actually run the plugin and press the shortcut in the window to open the brushes folder...
  2. Are you the administrator, or are you on an administrator account on that computer? be sure that you are.
  3. I have no problems, what Paint.NET version are you using?
  4. Exception details: System.OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory. Sorry BoltBait can you give me a quick explanation on how loading the fonts can crash 1.5 Gb of ram, please? Thanks in advance
  5. Try this right of the FAQ dunno if you've read this or if this will be of any help... Forget this I didn't read you post with enough attention, that's more advanced than the help I can provide...
  6. It looks like you ran out of RAM, and Paint.NET crashed... What was the resolution of the file you were open, import or resize to?
  7. This does not happen to me, did you try again and with other images?
  8. Yes you can, use the built-in updater to update Paint.NET.
  9. XP: My Documents > Paint.NET User Files > Custom Brushes Vista: (Username) > Documents > Paint.NET User Files > Custom Brushes
  10. have you downloaded three different files when you tried to install it? or was it always with the same file?
  11. No... Can you take a screenshot to show us?
  12. actually black wouldn't be a wrong choice to a background color because it's neutral so is gray and white, everything else is just ... er ... not-neutral?? anyways just a thought...(I'm getting way to much obnoxious)
  13. No... What I mean is that if Rick wanted to include your upgrade to add noise, I dunno but I think he'd probably already answered, BUT the changes you made (I've been comparing the code, I know coding, just not much of C#) and it seems to be a nice thing to release as your own plugin, just add a few things not to be only some upgraded effect... Just a though anyways...
  14. I forgot, I've been updating through PdN that I did forgot that
  15. Sorry my bad. my mind read 'remove' instead of 'add'... Anyways why don't you make a plugin out of it? something Add Noise+ and add a few more features, like the color range of the noise or something...
  16. Oh... I see... Dude you are not supposed to unzip the file... just double-click on it... and run it... just that.
  17. Jelle Mees don't be so cranky and loosen up, though I agree that a neutral color (gray) is better for a image editing program regardless the color scheme that the main OS uses. So Pi although firefox does it that's normal because a browser does not rely on the color for work purposes. Now Paint.NET does rely on the background color, which IIRC was subject of change on v3.35, from a gray-ish gradient, to pure gray, so it shouldn't chnge regardless the color scheme. EDIT: As Rick posted at the same time as I and now I've read his post... ...I'd say that both [Jelle and Rick] are right, though personally I stand by me , neutral colors for a image editing program are way better than theme blending, BUT an idea is that in the help menu we could have the option to 'Blend' and 'Un-blend' with the color scheme/theme the user is currently using...
  18. I thought that too, but I didn't want to say anything...
  19. Get the program ABRviewer open the Photoshop brush pack with it, and save the images to Paint.NET User Files > Custom Brushes to save the brushes. If they are already images then skip the ABRviewer part.
  20. Hm... Which themes did you try, and what colors came on those?
  21. edwardhaller that problem (As i stated previously) is most likely a Microsoft bug on XP SP3. I'm saying again to people that read this post from here on now.
  22. That's a corrupt file, re-download Paint.NET installer and make sure that the file as a size around 1.6 Mb.
  23. Ok change to the default XP theme, and see if the background remains...
  24. That's not a bug, when that happens go to Window>Reset Window Locations and everything will be brand new
  25. I never saw something like that, but I'm just going to throw around the possibility that you are using a custom design for your windows and that design is messing with it...
