  1. Also, I downloaded the GIMP brushes, and noticed the the following ones are blank. Did I do something wrong?

    Here are the blank ones:

    flower01

    flower02

    flower03

    flower04

    snow1

    splat1

    splat2

    strange01

    weave

No - they are just white.

does this take gimp brushes now ??

I have used the "white" brushes, test them on a dark picture or over a brush with color, it's a cool effect. Unless I misunderstood you, and you are asking if it takes the gimp format!

  2. I click on it, choose a brush color, and my chosen brush, and nothing changes. It is the same color as it was originally.

Are you sure this feature works?

I know - it won't work for me now but I thought it was just me. Pyro must have broken it when he fixed my code.

I am trying to solve it now.

Wow, you can say Pyro did something wrong ! Just kidding, Pyro is funny. So, how do you fix code, super code glue, or duct tape? Or does Pyro new to buy you a new one? Bad jokes, I know. Again, good job with this plugin, I made my cheesy avatar with it.

  3. Love the transparency feature, but the only way I can change the color of the brush is first pick a color on the color wheel, then choose custom brush, wait for it to load, pick my brush then mask color. On another positive note it seems the plugin loads a bit faster, but needs a little bit of work. Keep up the good work!

    Notice the brush colour button?

  4. I'm sorry for this VERY stupid question, but do I put this plugin in my Effects Folder? Where do I find it from within Paint.NET? I have read through much of this thread, and didn't see where to install this to, etc. (Unless I missed it somewhere)...

    Thanks,

This should do the job for you :)

EDIT: Since I got this update, I can't use any brush used in a specific colour. (In other words, the colour function isn't working for me!)

Hehehehe... Not a lot of us are gonna put your Cat in our pictures, no offense

No offense, I was just goofing around, seeing if I could make it a brush and make it an attachment. Yep, I'm a nut

Also, I love your grass brush, and nickel's footprint brush. I could have fun with my new cat brush, and these as well. Sorry, no kids, just a cat

  6. I've wondered how you guys post attachments in your posts. I'm glad turris asked.

Call me crazy, but I think he's asking how to put things into a zip file...? In which case you would select your pictures and right click -> Send to... -> Compressed (zipped) folder. Hope that helps! :)

Oh, I know how to zip files, but wasn't sure how to post attachments on this forum.

  7. I have enjoyed this plugin, but am having some trouble. It hangs for quite some time while rendering, and sometimes freezes PDN altogether. This may be a future bugfix, but wasn't sure. I have read about this problem in the thread, and tried making a subfolder in effects. However, by doing this, the effect disappeared from the effects menu. Some people may have faster computers, more ram, or I have messed up my computer in some way to keep it from working properly

  8. Can anyone help me out here?

You only waited about half an hour.... Don't be in such a rush.

Well, assuming you know how to make a .zip file, simply go to the Post a Reply page, scroll down to where it says attachments, click browse, and find & upload the file.

Then, right after you've done that, a dropdown menu will be under the posting textarea and you'll be able to place the attachment in-line with your post.

  9. Unlocked by request. Be good.

I don't know why people are being so difficult. I think I get what Fisherman's Friend was getting at. We have to act our age, support our plugin developers, etc. If we bash them, then why would they want to bother? It's not like they're getting paid or anything. I apologize if I ever offended a plugin author. All new plugins take time, and everyone will be happy if the plugin author is left alone to do their work, so that it will appreciated when the final product is finished.

I love this plugin! I hope my imagination comes through to use it well!

  10. I have a bunch of pictures of photoshop brushes which seem cool to me. I would upload them, but am afraid if I do that the original creators will come after me. So, I will suggest checking out Deviant Art's PhotoShop brushes section. Artists such as Insomniac and Thalassa are good in my opinion. Can find some great Gimp converted brushes, for those of you stuck on them. I mention these areas because you can find screenshots of the brushes which then can be used as a custom brush. I will search for links and post them soon.

  11. I've been telling my other intawebz pals about pdn. A few of them have downloaded it and some say they like it more than photoshop. Just trying to help spread the word.
Same here. As a teacher, we're supposed to take pictures for documentation purposes, and sometimes you need to adjust your pictures. To keep people from feeling overwhelmed with spending money on photo editing programs they don't need, I tell them about PDN. Also, it's fairly easy to use. Some former Paint users like how similar it is. Maximum PC says it's a supercharged version of Paint!
  12. Would you rather have to close the plugin, tweak the color, go back into the effects menu and run the plugin again, on those occasions when you don't know exactly what color you want to use?

Wow! Not to sound rude, but this plugin seemed pretty straightforward to me. You type in the color you like, which doesn't require you figuring the color code, and outline. I guess I've sold myself short again

  13. One of them worked when I did it the first time. I used the same video again and it didn't work.

Edit: what kind of AVIs are there?

AVI is the container that your video is in

    WMV is another kind

DIVX, XVID, MPEG, H264 are the codecs to create it.

I was able to convert a WMV file to an DIVX encoded AVI, which worked.

I used Virtualdub 1.16.9.2mpeg2 to do this, but SUPER should work as well.

  14. @Andrew D

"Cutting Out Images The Easy Way Version 2" is a bit to complicated and I do not need to remove te background. I just want the bike and not al the white space around it.

The white space is the background. :)

another, not so messy way to completely get rid of the white or the background, is to go on the color wheel, select black, click on the more button and at the bottom right adjust the alpha all the way to the left, so the color is semi transparent. Then, go on the two rectangles next to the antialias tool, or squiggly line, and select overwrite. Then take the paintbucket and dump it on your picture. This should work, just adjust threshold if it takes too much of your picture. I too found the Cutting Out Images2 complicated! :D

  15. In CorelDRAW, red eye removal is a tool, not an effect. All you have to do it click on the tool then click on the eye. It is all automatic after that. Works really good, too.
It just stinks that we have to shell out money for a red eye removal tool when we have one on this program. I'm going to pay $40-50 for ACDSEE 10 because they have a decent red eye removal tool, though the program might seriously kill my CPU (I have 256 ram, and minimum is 512mb). Vicman software has a redeye removal pro, and it's not bad, but don't like the interface (now free).
  16. I was flipping through a copy of the latest issue of PC Utilities the other day, and noticed a list of the best products of 2007, and Paint.Net was there. Don't remember what number it placed, didn't feel like shelling out more than $10 for a magazine.

Oh, and on an unrelated note, PM me if you have any suggestions on how to make my sig look better.

  17. Hi there, love your plugin! Love the fact that I can now get a screenshot of a vid clip without a separate application. The only thing is that the vid is hard to see since it is pixelated. Is there a workaround for this?

I am tempted to PM you about your canditate of choice for the 2008 election, being a resident while he was mayor.
