Yes, you are confused .And why are there plugins for v4 if it's not out yet? Or am I confused? There are no plugins out for v4.0 yet, mainly because there is no v4.0 released for authors to test their plugins on. However, there are plugins, such as Simon's Custom Brushes, which are 'placeholders' of such. They are features that are intended to be included with v4.0, bringing them to be used now in lieu of v4.0.
These plugins will become largely obsolete with the big release.

Necroposting galore.
Three months is the limit before the topic is classified as 'dead', it has been five.
Thank you for your input, innosonic, but don't forget the Rules (in this case, [rule=11]Rule 11[/rule]). You're more than welcome to return and post again .

Not unless you upsize it, or print it on anything bigger than its natural dimension. If your image fits within A3 size, then don't go printing on A2.I am using 100 dpi, do you think that it'll become too blurry? The problem people have with DPI only happens when they try to print it larger than the image's size, like, for instance, the example above. When the image is printed smaller, then DPI is neither here nor there.
-
Chances are, if you are speaking of a digital image, that the resolution was high enough to produce crisp images at both 4x6 and the larger size, as it would have been resized for the 4x6 size.I know if you have a 4x6 picture you can up the size when you have them printed, is this not the same? Both Ash's and welshblue's link are adequate DPIs to suggest, I too would recommend 300DPI.
Good luck, oma. This is quite a chance you have here; deserved as well.

You can't as such. What you will have to do is:(like if I selected an area with a magic wand, how do I paste an image into only THAT area without making a new image?)- - delete the content of the selection (as in, once the selection is active, hit the Delete key on your keyboard);
- create a new layer ( :AddNewLayer: ) and paste the image you want (Ctrl + V) - just as asian_skillz suggested;
- finally, move that new layer below the first ( ).
I would suggest that you have a play around, take a look over the Help Files (Help menu > Help Topics) and also the Forum Rules before immediately asking how to do what. 10 minutes is giving up far too quickly. Paint.NET is a surprisingly easy program to get to grips with, and it would not take all that long to learn a basic understanding.
Speaking of Rules, your topic title breaks [rule=6]Rule 6[/rule] which explains that topic titles must be descriptive. This in order for both the right user to see your problem and help more efficiently, and more importantly, for a clean and organised Forum; imagine if the Forum was littered with 'help!' and 'question!!!!'. Madness it would be. Utter lunacy.
Because of this, I'm going to lock your topic. This doesn't stop you from posting again, in fact, we'd be more than happy to extend the hand of help when you need it. Just don't forget those Help documents .

Can you continue to save, though? I have on many occasions been presented with the same issue, but I have been able to carry on with the save regardless.

Of course! I'm terribly sorry, I didn't include this with my reply to you. Who knows how I came to miss that. At least it's here for you.Heh. I asked how to make this effect from this same picture yesterday. =) -
Hello there.
You can recreate that by adapting the Photoshop tutorial to work with Paint.NET: http://psdtuts.com/tutorials-effects/cr ... on-effect/ .
There will be some things Paint.NET cannot do that Photoshop clearly can. For instance, take Steps 6 and 7: you cannot create paths in Paint.NET to apply the clouds of Step 7 with, therefore an alpha mask (plugin | tutorial) (or other method) of the desired shape will have to be used instead.
You'll have to take each step and think how the result of that step can be produced, rather than trying to convert word-for-word.
One of users by the name of -Expiration- used this tutorial for his signature. If he pops back again, I'm sure he'd be happy to lend a few tips to you.

I agree, the first is preferable. It looks as though you've got the hang of it rather quickly, very well, too.
Don't forget you can create your own personal gallery in the Pictorium to show off your images. It seems you're onto a winner here.
I'm really glad the tutorials are help you.

Look at you go! That's brilliant, thank you.
So, how have the suggestions worked out for you? Are they what you were hoping for?

In the right-hand corner of your first post, you'll find an Edit button. If you click that and retype your title, that would be marvellous.
It happens. At least you're aware of them now and you're willing to abide by them, that's the main thing.Sorry for not reading rules -
It is a fractal, so you won't be able to completely avoid that look. Perhaps fiddling with the setting some more or duplicating layers would do some good.Is the Fern Fractal plug-in supposed to look like this? I did not expect such a `patchy' appearance. -
Hello Leopluradon.
You can apply the methodology from the following tutorials to your situation: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27001 ; and viewtopic.php?p=130219#p130219
I would create an alpha mask (plugin | tutorial) of the lenses, then use that mask on the image you wish to insert in. Creating an alpha mask is very easy, and it retains natural anti-aliasing for a far better cut.

Now the moderating bit: your topic title breaks [rule=6]Rule 6[/rule] which explains that topic titles must be descriptive. This in order for both the right user to see your problem and help more efficiently, and more importantly, for a clean and organised Forum; imagine if the Forum was littered with 'help!' and 'tutorial request!!!!'. Something along the lines of 'Photoshop tutorial conversions' would be slightly better under the circumstances.
You're still online, so quickly! To the Edit button!

Don't forget Paint.NET's built in Red Eye Removal effect, which can provide equal results as the plugin, depending on the image.

Greetings Tarak.
No trick needed, it's very simple to save as a TGA: go to File > Save As, then drop down the Save as type menu to select TGA, finally choosing which bit-depth you prefer.
If you require more information, there is a tutorial available that details the saving process and giving a brief description for each file type. You can find this tutorial here: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26975

Helpful, jiZer, really helpful. Your intentions are in the right place - that is noted - but perhaps next time you welcome someone, you could also try to offer some advice.Hello welcome to the PDN forum! -
The Rect. to Polar plugin has since been combined with the Polar to Rect. plugin to make the Polar Transformations Plugin by MadJik. Two tools into one: win-win .It says I need rect polar but I can't find it on your tool page.
Paint.NET's custom search utility has yet to catalogue the new Tutorial section, so you'll have little luck there, and I believe it's the same with the Forum's built in search utility (?). Saying that, the Forum's search does give the ability to refine the retuned results according to certain criteria - author, particular sub-forum, etc. - which can help in finding what you want efficiently. Not for me i hate the paint.net search i never find anything with it -.- -
Hello CaptRon.
No, if I understand you correctly....when seting a seconadary color to 100% transparency is that just 100 on the transparency-alpha seting in the color palett- 100% transparency will mean you will not see the colour when it is applied to the canvas, the setting in the Color window will be 0.
- 0% transparency (you will fully see the colour) will be 255 in the Color window. Have a play around with the dial to see for yourself.
It can be both depending what you are wanting to do. The blend mode from the Cloud dialog will effect only the rendering of the effect, not the layer. The blend modes in the Layers dialog will effect the whole layer, not just the effect.when setting the blend mode say for the cloud affect is that done in the cloudbox when rendering cloud effects or is that done in the layer optionsDon't forget the Help Files if you are confused with anything, with each page harbouring a translation menu at the top for easy translation into a few select languages: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/index.html
Does this clear anything up for you?

Hello Mila.
Try Curtis' Selective Palette from his plugin pack, a plugin that limits the amount of colour used in an image to a certain palette of your choosing - even by using palette files used in Paint.NET.
You can download it from here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22521

Hello deadman36g.
Simon is quite right in that we cannot do your work for you....if you are looking for some help there are some brilliant tutorials at your disposal and you can also post in The Image Hospital for suggestions on any current attempts.Perusing the Rules, you would realise that you are breaking Rule #23, whereby we do not accept solicitation. That might sound an extreme term to use, but you're asking for someone to do the work for you. We are here to help others, sort out problems with program bugs and other issues, but we are not here to do the bidding of users. We are not slaves. You should not be lazy.
However, we all have our lazy moments, and perhaps creativity is not your strongest asset, which is where the quote of Simon comes into play. We have dedicated sections of this Forum where we can aid in the creative process once you have started yourself off.
I am going to have to lock your topic, for one because of the above rule violation, for another because I hope to see you in the Pictorium very soon, where this sort of work belongs .
If I have misunderstood you, don't hesitate to contact any moderator to have this locking reversed.

will u plz stop tipin lyk ths plz thnk u xXxwill u plz xplain lil more..This Forum is visited and actively used by people coming from many nationalities, coming with many languages. Some of those find standard English difficult to read and/or write (who would blame them?) or have very limited horizons, IM speak would only confuse the mind out of them. Heck, English is my native language, and it confuses me at times.
Please tone it down when you next post. Thanks.

Yes, that's right. Only if they're installed correctly, though .

Greetings Renegade.
Have you tried setting the colours in your Color window to your desired transparency? Just click on the More button to reveal the colour variables, including transparency (the alpha, as it is also called). You can then set each of the primary and secondary colours to the required transparency, drawing your gradient thereafter.
Does this help you?

Do you know what, I think he does also. Heavens wonder why I didn't think that in the first place.@Myrddin - I think he is trying to cut out the subject of a photograph and place it in front of a black background

May I ask you to re-post your palette in the below topic, please? This is so we can keep all custom palettes in one place as much as possible, therefore having it readily available if they're ever needed.
